Ah, but that will be passed along directly to the consumer like a sale tax.
My house is energy efficient.
My ranch house runs off a windmill supplimented with a propane-fired generator.
And like every tax, it decreases disposable income. Less money circulating in the economy means more unemployment. That will require more taxes to cover the government unemployment largess.
