Obama and his terrorists loving AG are idiots.

The sale of a firearm in the US has no relation to the problems of Mexico! The AK 47 full auto is the weapon of choice down there. And retailer can’t sell those in the US.
They get them from China and other countries.

Mexico is poor...so Americans must have their Constitutional rights violated???

What a bunch of commies.

These will not be affected by the ban.

For those of you who follow debate tactics/word games etc:

"Mexican government officials have complained that the availability of sophisticated guns from the United States, have emboldened drug traffickers to fight over access routes into the U.S.

A State Department travel warning issued Feb. 20, 2009, reflected government concerns about the violence.

"Some recent Mexican army and police confrontations with drug cartels have resembled small-unit combat, with cartels employing automatic weapons and grenades," the warning said."

And people complain about subliminal hamburger ads on tv---sigh....

I thought they'd wait a couple of months until they fixed the economy.

If you think the price of guns and ammo is high now, just wait till this gets on everybody's radar.

DUMMIES never learn to not mess with our guns do they?

I am beginning to see a one term President for this one of many reasons.

Just where are the cries from the people to abolish gun rights? You do not hear them unless they’re some left wing nut job nudged by a politic ion to do away with the guns that will keep the great usurper from taking our country without a fight.

“Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom of Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States.” —Noah Webster, An Examination of the Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution, 10 October 1787

"...reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons," Holder told reporters.

The statement that they want to "reiinstitute" the ban on "assault weapons" is, itself, a bold faced lie.

What they want is something like H.R. 1022, which is far more draconian than the old "assault weapons" ban. I.E., H.R. 1022 would allow the the A.G. to ban virtually any firearm, on a whim:

`(L) A semiautomatic rifle or shotgun originally designed for military or law enforcement use, or a firearm based on the design of such a firearm, that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, as determined by the Attorney General. In making the determination, there shall be a rebuttable presumption that a firearm procured for use by the United States military or any Federal law enforcement agency is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, and a firearm shall not be determined to be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event.'.

Now, more than ever, we must be vigilant, vigorous and vocal. These LibTards are not going to stop until they are made to stop. They will continue to push their ‘control at any cost’ socialism until they run into the brick wall of freedom loving people who still think the US Constitution is valid and is to be interpreted as the guiding legal document of this grand experiment.

It’s time to take back the country.

Posted on Hot Air on the same Topic:

”flow of guns going across the border into Mexico”

Geeze, that has to rate at least a 9 on a scale of 1-10 on the Lame-o-meter.

You know that they were itching to see word a big massacre cross the news wires, failing that at least SOME up-tick in violence due to so-called “assault weapons.”

But come on!!

”help cut down on the flow of guns going across the border into Mexico,

Here’s a Radical concept !!!! Build a fence ACROSS the Border

The great thing about a fence is that IT WORKS BOTH WAYS!!!!!!

Obama to Seek New Assault Weapons Ban

Thursday, February 26, 2009 7:45 PM

The Obama administration has its sights set on reinstating the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004.

Attorney General Eric Holder told reporters that the move would help stem the tide of guns that cross into Mexico from the United States. Mexico is currently struggle with a surge of violence linked to drug cartels.

“As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons,” Holder said, according to ABC News. “I think that will have a positive impact in Mexico, at a minimum.”

Holder did not indicate when the administration might act on reinstating the ban.

“It’s something, as I said, that the president talked about during the campaign,” Holder said. “There are obviously a number of things that are — that have been taking up a substantial amount of his time, and so, I’m not sure exactly what the sequencing will be.”
