Using words such as "imposter" and "usurper," an active-duty Army officer in Iraq has joined a California lawyer's lawsuit intended to force President Barack Obama to prove he is a legal U.S. citizen, and therefore able to legally serve as the commander in chief.
"Until Mr. Obama releases a 'vault copy' of his original birth certificate for public review, I will consider him neither my Commander in Chief nor my President, but rather, a usurper to the Office -- an impostor," 1st Lt. Scott R. Easterling states in his letter published at Defendourfreedoms.com.
An Army spokesman told Military.com today that officials are aware of Easterling's letter.
Poll: Should a Soldier serve if he doesnt think the president is legitimate?
"We are taking a look at that ourselves right now," Lt. Col. Christopher Garver said. "We are always trying to balance our ... military requirements under the Uniform Code of Military Justice versus critical freedoms that all Americans enjoy."
California dentist turned attorney Orly Taitz, who has brought the lawsuit, told Military.com Tuesday that it is her "understanding that there will not be a serious consequence to his career [for his statements], but I don't know for sure."
"I told him 'you're doing something very brave for this country, and that you can call me any time, 24/7 [for advice],' " she said. "If you're investigated by [the judge advocate general] and if there are any hearings ... and if an officer is defending you, I will provide documents totally proving it's illegitimate for [Obama] to be president."

Contempt Toward Officials

IMO, he may have crossed the line with the statement, AS TRUE AS IT IS. But I'm sure he knew that going in. You can't pussyfoot around in a situation like this -- it's an "all or nothing deal" with your conviction.
He will probably receive little support from his superiors because it's so controversial. IMO, it seems so many of the O-6 and above are concerned with making rank -- very few will stand up on principle. And the Generals are confirmed by the Senate, so if you stand up against the tide there, your career is toast.
So we need to give him and all other military folks all the support we can because the Obots, both in and out of the military, will try to make an example of him. We cannot let that happen to patriots like him who have the conviction to stand up for what's right.
Thanks.
“This officer needs to be very careful. His career could be in jeopardy.”
Are you being sarcastic?
OUR Country is in Jeopardy; He knows what he risks, he is a Patriot!
I salute you also!
They can't send him to Levenworth without a Court Martial. In a Court Martial, he gets to defend himself, including calling witnesses, and subpoenaing documentation.
Through him into that Briar Patch.
IOW, that might be just what he wants.
I gotta hit the hay.
..without a Courts-Martial...etc

Granted.
What I mean is the Army won’t just let him sit around, gathering supporters. One has publicly surfaced and no telling how many more there are. The Army will (or would have) strike swiftly to put down a ‘Major Rebellion’ before it starts, ‘For the good of the order’.
Then again, I am thinking of ‘My Navy’ of the 50’s, 60’s etc and how they would have ‘reacted’ and the reason UCMJ Article 134 existed.
I agree that Pres.Obama must give adequete proof that he is eligible to be president, but he is getting advice on this matter from yahoos that believe they know better than anyone else and are leading him and the country into a giant problem that is not easily fixed.Unless Pres.Obama produces a legitimate birth certificate. And,given the time to now, thatmight even be rejected.A classic case of coulda woulda shoulda
