Holder declined to offer any time frame for the reimplementation of the assault weapons ban

They'll schedule the vote right after the destroy-the-economy-carbon-tax bill; in other words it's pushed to the back burner, just a talking point for their base - the gun grabbers and the Mexican government.

"I predict this will Hussein’s first legislative defeat."

Gun owners in "somewhat blue" states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, etc. where Rahm Emmanuel got pseudo-conservative pseudo-pro-gun-rights Democrats to run need to let those supposed "blue-dog" Democrats know that they will be out of office at the next election if they go along with anything like this.

So all the current ammo purchases will be a felony if still owned after 2011?

Some “cop-killer bullet” basics.

1. “Armor” has many meanings. Military vehicles have plating that is called “armor.”

2. Cops wear fabric vests that is known colloquially as “body armor,” which is usually effective on some or all standard pistol rounds, but ineffective on most or all rifle rounds, regardless of bullet design, material, or coating.

2. “Armor piercing” or “AP” bullets have hard metal (steel, tungsten, etc.) cores to penetrate military armor plate. These are legal to possess, but illegal to make, and illegal for firearms dealers to sell. They have no special effectiveness on cop vests.

3. AP bullets do not penetrate cop vests any more effectively than ordinary hunting bullets, which is to say that they both penetrate vests quite reliably.

4. Entirely unrelated to any of this, police have an occasional need to shoot into a vehicle, and the glancing angles at which the bullets strike glass or sheet metal cause them to deflect and be ineffective. To address this, a bullet was designed to have a sharp front rim formed of hard metal (like steel, not copper or lead), which bites into the surface instead of glancing off. While these were effective, the hard jacket material caused excessive wear on the barrels of the cop’s guns. So the bullets were coated with plastic (teflon.) These might aptly be called “cop-gun-protective bullets” or “deflection-resistant bullets.” Instead, these have been dubbed by the ignorant and hostile as “cop-killer bullets.”

5. These so-called “cop-killer bullets” have no advantage in penetrating police vests. Nor have they ever killed a cop. Nor are they legal to manufacture or possess (to my recollection - they certainly are unavailable on the market, including gun-show sellers of controversial ammunition).

6. The plastic coating on these or any bullets has no effect on target penetration or lethality. Teflon coating is very common on ordinary hunting and target rifle bullets because it reduces the amount of copper that accumulates in the gun barrel, reducing cleaning chores.

It's telling that on a thread like this, given what we face, your priorities are attacking conservatives and defending yourself. And now you're making false assumptions about who I voted for to support your idiotic claims. Got any other blanks you'd like to fire?

Also, the "you can't read" taunt on a written-word forum is the height of idiocy.

Also, From what I what I read last night, some states approved the ammo act....was that the necessary step to make it a felony for the ammo bought before 2011?

That’s true, but many, many many more people own “assault weapons” than ever owned NFA weapons. And if they outlaw their expanded definition of “assault weapons” (basically any magazine fed semi-auto) we will effectively be disarmed. Might as well not have the 2nd amendment at all.

Assumption is easy when your reaction is to get offended by a true statement. If you do own this train wreck, quit complaining. There were signs this was going to happen and Obama voters, third party voters and stay at home conservatives were okay with Obama being POTUS. None of those three voters tried to stop Obama. They either assisted him or stood on the sideline.

More accurately...

"Come and take them!"

Some FReepers live to disparage the NRA but, they hit the nail on the head when they sounded the warning last summer that, if elected, The One would likely name Eric Holder as his AG and Holder is a sworn enemy of the right to bear arms.

I suppose we are a nation of cowards if we don't disarm! Since I just got layed off I'll have to watch Bourne and learn how to kill with a rolled up magazine. Then I'll take that guy's gun and move on.

John McCain was the most unelectable candidate our decomposing party ever put forward. And I still voted for his sorry behind.

So, no, I’m not one of the folks you’re talking about. And I’m still saying your assertions about them are bullshit. You don’t have enough hours in your day to accurately detail everyone responsible for this disaster. And even if you did, the conservatives you seem to loathe would be last on that list.

Nice pic.

However, this is 2009. A million man march to DC should be done without anyone carrying, so as not to frighten anyone and not give the media reason to jump on someone and make them a bad example of what "we" are trying to do.

Yeah, that's it. that's the ticket. < / sarc>

Now, imagine , if you will, several of those people in that picture, those on the right, hanging around with their hands in their pockets, because, they, you know, did not feel it would be prudent to bring a firearm to the bridge, because, you know, the brits might make hay with that, you know.

Historically you are correct.

In current English as opposed to Greek, “take” might mean receive the rounds, not take the weapon.

I am not sure this is the best rallying theme for now, but it is so old and recognized that it is accepted.

I have seen the T-shirts that suggest voting from the roof tops, not sure that is healthy to promote.

I love my country, but not the current “leadership”.

And will not be a good little Dhemi!!!

Plain and simple. It seems you need it as simple as possible. Maybe in Braille?

There are three type of voters that put Obama in power or allowed him to win.

(1) Obama voters (which I have posted each time as number one)

(2) Third party voters that threw away their votes on candidates that could not win, thus assisting Obama and not trying to stop him.

(3) Any conservative that stayed home to protest because they were not happy with the GOP candidate or the GOP party.

Those three put Obama in power. Not those people that voted against Obama to stop him. ONLY VOTES WIN OR LOSE ELECTIONS.

I did not want McCain as the GOP candidate. I did not vote for him in the primary. He was my second to last choice, just above the surrender monkey Ron Paul. Yet, when he was chosen as the candidate, I voted for Palin against Obama myself.

de facto ban on lead smelting and casting through unobtainable - outside a few industrial labs - emission standards.

Just as Prohibition produced the art of the "still" so will this produce other home remedies. Lead (like gold) melts at very low temps. Often an open flame like from a campfire or a fireplace can do the job. Bullet molds are easy to come by, too. There will be a huge black market on reloading ammo. This will be vastly more successful than the drug market or even the market for illegal guns and 10 times as difficult for the government to crack down on...
