Obama Thinks America Invented The Automobile
Jalopnik ^ | 2/25/2009 | Ray Wert

In tonight's mini-State of the Union, President Obama said the "nation that invented the automobile cannot walk away from it." One problem. We didn't. That would be Karl Benz, in Mannheim, Germany. Just sayin'...

Well, we did invent the airplane, the misguided claims of foreign jingoists notwithstanding.
The airplane is therefore EVIL, EVIIIILLLLL, automatically so since it is American and especially since it is used mostly to bomb the innocent and transport fatcat corporate profiteers.

Things you didn’t know about American airplanes:

-All terrorism and oppression is a reaction to the Dire Effects of American Bombing™
- Pilots are required to kill a fluffy bunny with their bare claws and eat its still-beating heart before they are allowed to graduate from flight school.
-US military pilots must have their guilt centers surgically excised, they are each paid 20 million dollars a year, and they are forced to kill themselves when they reach retirement age.
-Jet fuel is made from the processed body fat of anally electrocuted chinchillas.
-American “smart” bombs are programmed to seek out petting zoos, kindergartens, and mosques in that order.
-Both Halliburton and Blackwater have aviation divisions. ‘Nuff said.

Those old whiteys all look the same so its hard to tell them apart.
Besides, when Obama is through we’ll all be just one big happy Islamic country anyway.

Apparently Obomba was sleeping during history class.

Not fair. That is how it is taught in Indonesia.

No - It was Ransom Olds who invented and perfected the assembly. Google it and find out for youoeself. Henry Ford paid a royalty to use it with his “mas production.”

Actually, it’s debatable. Benz built motorcycles with training wheels and also tricycles. Those arent’ really cars. The first car would be a 4 wheeled horseless carriage that carries at least 2 people via side by side bench type seating.

In that case, it WAS invented in america and obama WAS RIGHT!

You dorks that jump on to everything rush says are making fools of yourselves. Rush is very smart, but when it comes to technology or math, he can be quite dull.

The assembly line was invented by livestock slaughter houses. Machine fabricators/assemblers stole the idea from them.

Where did you get that from that Benz built motorcycles with training wheels?

Palin did say it, but not in way SNL portrayed it. In a documentary or interview she spoke of an island that is part of Alaska, upon which you can stand and see a piece of Russia. It was twisted into the SNL portrayal.

My sources say it was Nicolas Joseph Cugnot, a Frenchman.

French auto design at its finest.

You can vote here on Cugnot vs. Benz.

“It was Ransom Olds who invented and perfected the assembly.”

And the truck was named “REO Speedwagon.”

Ransom E. Olds

That is exactly correct; land in the United States and land in Russia are 2 miles apart (Diomede Island and Little Diomede Island in the Bering Strait).

By the way, that's how far apart land in New York State and land in Rhode Island are too (look at a map)!

You are wrong, wrong, wrong. It was not invented in the US. What Ford did was the first one to mass produce the automobile which is a big difference from inventing it.

Now who is the dork?

Should you continue to espouse these falsehoods, as deemed by the Obama Ministry of Information, you will be subject to fines and imprisonment.

Beatings, too. Don't forget the beatings.

Which one? Or both?
