President Obama takes a page from Ronald Reagan's playbook in his speech to Congress.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Barack Obama addressed Congress shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday, but a casual viewer might have believed it was actually morning in America.

"Morning in America" was the theme of Ronald Reagan's 1984 re-election campaign, and it was front and center in Obama's most critical event since Inauguration Day.

The president who has pledged to reverse much of Reagan's economic revolution took a page from the 40th president's playbook in his 52-minute speech, striking a defiantly optimistic tone that belied the nation's sour mood and rebutted critics who have accused him of intentionally talking down the economy for short-term political gain.

"Though we are living through difficult and uncertain times, tonight I want every American to know this: We will rebuild, we will recover and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before," Obama declared to a thunderous round of applause from a packed House

So the Kenyan is running for re-election already???

Well, I guess that makes sense. It took him two years to swindle people into voting for him once, so it only stands to reason it will take him twice as long to bamboozle them a second time.

Bunch of morons.

The storm clouds are dark and looming, while the masses think the birds are chirping and it’s a sunny day.

I swear that if my net worth, adjusted for inflation, in three and a half years is greater than it is today, I will vote for Barak Obama.

I don’t expect to be voting for Barak Obama.

This is like watching a train wreck in slow motion. I am truly afraid our country is in grave danger.

Sorry CNN. Bari the Kenyan is no President Reagan. Of course, he doesn’t make my leg tingle either.

Reagan never lectured his audiences the way that Obama does.

Ohhhhhhhh....now I get it. Stupid me. Obamalamadingdong is going to reduce the deficity by increasing it. And he's going to revive the Reagan Revolution by reversing it.

Got it. Where's my Kool-Aid?

One of my libearl pals told me that "the recession is over" today.

I'm still mystified about where he gets his info.

I keep looking around for the planet ship that's broadcasting all these Lefty "facts"...

"Though we are living through difficult and uncertain times, tonight I want every American to know this: We will rebuild, we will recover and the United States of America will emerge stronger than before,"

What he meant was...you guys go out and work, then I'll take your money to give to 'my people' and btw, we're going to build stronger relationships with our enemies by giving them money and letting them know we ain't got no military.

"Morning in America" was the theme of Ronald Reagan's 1984 re-election campaign

Reagan didn't campaign on morning in america until it actually was morning in America again. The campaign rested on the RESULTS of 4 years of governance. With Obama, it's just more talk and promises.

President Obama takes a page from Ronald Reagan’s playbook in his speech to Congress.

So his idea of “change” is to put forth socialist agenda and then go steal pages from Reagan’s speeches? Incredible!
