***Given a choice between McCain and Obama, you and the other Paulistinians favored Obama, because he subscribes to the blame-America-first foreign policy of Ron Paul***
That’s a choice?

I hate to break it to you, but Gibson wasn't on trial, Palin was.
As to Bristol Palin, it strikes at the core of Conservative values. Un-wed mothers are the single greatest social problem America faces.
Ann Coulter is correct when she states that being the child of an unwed mother is the single most accurate predictor of criminal behavior, incarceration, drug use, illegitimacy, and permanent welfare dependency. If Bristol isn't going to get married, that child would be far better off being adopted by a married couple.
A parent cannot always prevent their child from making a mistake...that is true...but once that mistake is made, they have an obligation to make certain that the mistake their child made isn't compounded by further bad decisions.
Bristol had no business appearing on television in an interview...bad decision. That child needs both a father and a mother...so far, bad decision. Allowing Bristol to raise that child rather than giving it up for adoption...bad decision...especially for the child.
Either you are a Conservative and hold Conservative values, or you aren't. Conservatives believe that un-wed mothers are an unfortunate blight on our society and the victims of that blight are the very babies we seek to protect from abortionists. The decision to have a baby is accompanied by certain obligations, the single most important of which is making decisions that are best for the baby, not the parent.
"I could not care less if Bristol Palin ever gets married. Thats her business."
It is not "her business" if she raises that child without a father...it is the child's business. It is selfish Liberal twaddle to assert that Bristol is noble and valiant for raising the child by herself...the child is the victim.
Of Course Bristol is lucky enough to be the child of parents with some degree of financial means and so her child will more likely escape these negative consequences but there is no guarantee and it serves as a very negative example for other teens out there whose parents aren't as well equipped to deal with an un-wed daughter/parent.

I know! LOL
It is starting to look as if Schmucky is going to be the "attack" dog for the administration. I guess they figure no one in the media would dare call the Schmuckster out for his lies, and he is always in front of some camera!

I know your being honest and I appreciate that. As I said in my post, Jindal didn't perform that well tonight and Palin didn't perform too great with her media interviews so I'm not being their cheerleaders. In fact I haven't even picked a favorite candidate yet because we still have a while to go before the Republican primaries, and I imagine there will be more Republicans jumping in to run for the nomination, and one or more of them could be better than Plain and Jindal. I'll just have to wait and see.
I plan on waiting for the Republican debates to decide which candidate I'll support, because the debates will determine for me which candidate has what it takes to lead our party to victory. I just hope conservatives will wait till then to pass judgment on which ever candidate is running. I sure don't want to be stuck with another McCain because too many conservatives sat on their hands during the primary because the candidate they thought was their last great hope fizzled or bombed, aka Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter.

I cant wait to hear Jindal, and wish he were POTUS! He will be one day.
Perhaps in 2021, following Palin's two-year term.

First time I've heard him speak, like a cold mashed potato sandwich, without saltI thought I recognized that sentence...you posted the same thing at DU. What's up with that?

RE :”
I was defending Jindal”
Laura Ingrahm is ripping Jindal’s speech right now. He says that Obama knows how to give a moving speech but that republicans have no similar orator. I said before that Fred Thompson is an expert at sounding good ripping democrats on camera. He already did the video months ago.

We have a wealth of untapped, youthful, conservative, educated Republicans who carry none of Palins baggage. What sort of "baggage" does Palin carry?
To: Melas
Sorry, Ill never cast a vote for the woman Will you vote for Sarah Palin if she's the Republican nominee in 2012?
To: sickoflibs
The comparison she's making is weak. She's making a faulty comparison... and comparing the theatrics involved in two completely different settings. Laura is comparing a Obama political rally to a Jindal conversation. Jindal didn't have a crowd to talk to... had he raised his voice like Obama did and shouted out each line it would have been panned. And by the way, Obama had a deer in the headlights multiple times at the beginning of his speech, and spoke out of turn again as he did during the inauguration.
Maybe everyone here is recommending next year we have a political rally (complete w/crowd) inside an arena so that our message will compare better to Obama’s speech. Maybe its a good idea, I don't know.

I like Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal, and if either one got the nomination I would be proud to vote for them in the general election.
My favorite Republican though is Senator Jim DeMint, and if he were to run in the primary I would vote for him in a heart beat.
I just watched him being interviewed by Fox News and I think he's great. From what I've seen of Sen. DeMint, he seems to have a proven conservative track record, He's not afraid to mix it up with the Democrats, He articulates conservative principals in a clear and compelling manner, and he doesn't come across as a doddering old geezer or an inexperienced youth.
Now I'm sure DeMint has some faults since there is no such thing as a perfect conservative. As long as his views agree with mine 80% of the time I'm happy with him, and from what I've seen of him so far, I'm quite impressed.
Now before Palin and Jindal supporters get upset at me, I'm not trashing Palin or Jindal and would never dream of doing so, because as I said before, I like both of them and I think either one of them would be a great Commander in Chief.
If you want to see Jim DeMint in action just watch his senate speeches and debates, along with his various media interviews on YouTube.
Jim DeMint for President 2012!
