Let's buy it, at fire sale prices. Has anybody out there thought of rejuvenating a liberal rag into a conservative phenomenon?

I would think you could sell a conservative paper in the Central Valley (think the Bee circulation). You might as well do it online and avoid union participation. Finding suitable journos might be a problem though.
