Yes, he could have stood up in the Senate in early January and objected to each vote cast for The One.

Well, no. He'd have had to submit it in writing, and someone from the House of Representatives would have to have done the same.

Shelby had sort of retracted, now he's completely retracted:

Shelby, who as the senior Republican on the Senate Banking Committee was appearing with Obama and other members of Congress to discuss financial regulation, made clear that he believed the president was a citizen.

“[I] never had any doubts,” he said. “I didn’t raise the doubt. They raised it in a meeting.”

Is this characteristic for Senator Shelby?
