If there were to do a complete investigation I bet it will led to some interesting places.

Which is why they probably won't.

The YouTube video shows a live Fox News broadcast from ... a bar?

Look at the background — behind the lovely lady and standard dude doing the talking.

Exactly. I bet this investigation is ‘shut down’ as well. If Kucinich pulls it off I’ll give him credit.

This moring on Meet the Press the notion of investigation into banking mess was brought up and everyone (except G Will) very quickly said “oh no, that’s a waste of time, let’s not look backward, let’s look forward ... yadda, yadda, yadda”.

The fear was palpabe in their voices.

I wonder just how many in the SEC have been “bought off.”

This is interesting. It is probably going to take more than the tea bag business to return our government to the people. This plus the Swedish bank accounts certainly wouldn’t hurt the cause nationwide. We see more and more each day why an outsider such as Governor Palin has to be marginalized, if not destroyed, by the current “ruling class” Here is hoping this whole thing collapses like a house of cards. There will be some very tough times on the way, but, its worth it to save our nation.

I wonder that too in light of the Madoff and now Stanford ... and probably more ponzi schemes out there.

You could make a LOT of money looking the other way ... and that includes people in Congress charged with oversight.

As I always say “Who’s regulating the regulators?”

I agree. We have to let the wildfire burn down to ashes and then rebuild.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Isn’t it a “coincidence” that Stanford was traveling along Interstate 95 when he was stopped by the FBI near Fredericksburg, Va. (an hour south of Washington, DC).........where he was served with a subpoena.

Funny how they could find him out there-—on a highway-— when SOMEBODY wanted him nabbed (snicker).

MORAL OF THE STORY: Stanford got too greedy; he wasn’t sharing enough of the loot with the PTB-—that’s why he had to go.

Reminds me of cops nabbing mobsters-—that only happens when the law didn’t get enough kickbacked (SOURCE: read Ferdinand Lundberg’s Rich and Super Rich).

If he had donated just a few more bux to the DNC or Obama he would still be operating like nothing is in question. Gee whiz is this supposed to be a new story. If Bill Gates would have coughed up when the original DNC shakedown happened there would have never been an anti-trust action against him. Get some of the Democrats on the box (polygraph) and see what pops up....

Probably, FBI and DEA. Agencies always fight for turf, and in this case there was likely a high priority on his other connections - money laundering for South American drug cartels. Watching him instead of spooking him may have nabbed some pretty bad guys.

US authorities 'had been investigating Allen Stanford for 15 years'(& laundering for Mexican cartel)

He is on the loose still, may be precisely because they could be watching him and his girlfriend.

Though now, that it's almost over (he is still only charged in civil suit by SEC) could be interesting to know how high the communication between the agencies went. Did it only involve Texas offices or national? Stanford's pattern of "supported" politicians include some (local) Texans and highly placed national Senators, including McCain, Clinton and Obama.

Do you think Kucinich would sell out a fellow Democrat?

If it turns out to be someone like Frank who made the SEC stop, the media will spin it as weakness on the part of the Bush Admin, for not standing up to Congress, who was only doing what they thought was best for the Children.

The activities this guy was involved in left a pretty wide paper/electronic trail. His offshore air trips alone were a HUGE red flag.

The 15-year surveillance raises a question or two——and he IS still free———could be he was instructed in certain activities as a way to draw out crooks from their hideouts.

Probably got nabbed b/c he was helping himself to the goodies.
