The Democrats are making a very big mistake - because once people have nothing left to lose, they will indeed "take to the streets."
It shouldn't have to be this way. There was a time when men had their priorities straight. God first. Honor was more important than anything earthly. And they held personal liberty more important than mortal life or fortune. Such was the case in the American Revolution.
But if Democrats keep taking what is not theirs to take, even these will be forced to the streets having perceived they have nothing left to lose.
While I hate to make suggestions like this, one would think that a certain "populist" development has been taking place that ought to give the Political Establishment pause: Private firearms and ammunition purchases have simply gone through the roof in recent times.
Having said that, it is my hope that disputes with our government will remain peaceful. There are so many opportunities for "peaceful, non-violent protest" that remain open (and will continue to remain open, so long as the Obama Administration and Congress do not tamper with the First Amendment) that the Will of the People may yet prevail in a peaceful manner.
If, however, the Obama Administration should signal that First Amendment protections principally of free speech, free press, free assembly, and religious liberty will be chipped away at because they are "inconvenient" to the Progress of His Vision for the American Future, then all bets that things will remain peaceful are off.
Dearest sister in Christ, it is a comfort to me to know that you worry about such things, too. Beyond doing whatever we can to speak on behalf of Liberty and the Constitutional order that ever defends it, against all enemies "foreign and domestic," all we can do besides is to convert our worry into prayers that we can lift unto our Lord.
It was to Him that our Founders appealed, as the Supreme Judge of the world under Whose Divine Providence perhaps the greatest revolution in political order in the history of humankind was then taking place, for the advancement of which the signatories of the Declaration of Independence mutually pledged their "lives, ... fortunes and ... sacred honor."
It is clear our Founders prayed a lot. I think we ought to do the same for God truly does hear our prayers. The fact that the Constitution of the United States could have been imagined and ratified in the service of human liberty under justice in the first place testifies to this fact.
I know you do this already, dearest Alamo-Girl. To everybody else I say: Speak to God daily; unburden your heart to Him. Tell Him plainly how much you/we need His help. God willing, we can restore America to her moral basis one prayer at a time....
May God ever bless you, dearest sister in Christ, and all your loved ones, always!
