This Weeks Memes
- All right thinking governors love the stimulus... even some good Republicans
- Governors who don't support the stimulus, all evil Republicans, are hypocrites and losers
- The One's brilliant plan and the best and the brightest who work for him will save us all. Genuflect! Genuflect!
- It's worse than we were told by McChimpy Bushitler's incompetent minions and we must spend even more
- One law to rule us all, one law to find us, one law to bring us all, and in the darkness bind us
- You evil capitalists will be made to pay! Bend over, The One is in charge now!
- "High, we're the government and we've got rules for you"
My Analysis, such as it is
Let's see, 2 Republicans who openly support Obama's stimulus (and one of them is on two shows), 4 more who want all or part of "their share" and only 3 out of all of the Republicans who are being really vocal in opposition, versus 5 lock step Democrats. How... predictable.
I am interested in seeing how Jindal handles Crist because it may be a preview of the Republican primary in 2012. I'm not interested in the CBS 3 on 1 Demfest at all. Fox has a more balanced panel, but Pawlenty is a big disappointment. Arnold is on both CNN and ABC. He has Steponallofus all to himself and shares his CNN appearance with a second outing of Obama's HUD Secretary as well as Haley Barbour and Mitch McConnell (I'm sure not all at the same time). Meh. Barbour and McConnell could be interesting, but neither really excites me with their style. CNN also has ABCs Robin Roberts, no doubt to talk Oscar coverage. Double meh. In addition to Arnold ABC has a truly frightening panel to talk down the economy some more. Yuck!
I'm willing to guarantee that George Will's bit on global warming won't come up, but I wanted to put in the links because he's right and the clown from New Republic is wrong. The Gorebot sets up straw men to frantically attack Will as a heretic but conveniently ignores exhibit A for Will's premise. One of the strongest voices for the false alarm over global cooling in the 1970s was none other than the Goracle's # 1 scientist, old "hockey stick" himself, NASA's James Hansen. On top of that he repeats thoroughly debunked claims about the last 10 years being the hottest ever (several years in the 1930s were warmer than any in the last 20) and ignores the fact that the world has been consistently getting cooler since 1998. I'm not a big fan of George Will, but when he's right, he's right.
For those few able to stomach watching these shows, bonne chance. I'll eventually read the Sunday thread to learn what went on, but only in small doses to avoid aggravation.
Oh, I have a bonus Krugman digust-a-post for you all:
Double yuck!

but Pawlenty is a big disappointmentHuge, my friend, huge.
I don't know if there is much I can do to make sure that Pawlenty has NO chance at the nomination, but I will think hard about it and do what I can. He is a weak man.

Bobby Jindal and Becky Quick are worth sitting through MTP.Becky is really good at hiding what I think is probably a liberal bias. She is either a lib or she just doesn't give a dam one way or the other and is just there to find a guy, get married, an get rich. Who knows.
No one on the air has the kind of access she has to Warren Buffet, its humorous really. Buffet is just politically cornfused IMHO.

I am going to miss the morning shows today, due to mass and then visiting my sister.
I would REALLY appreaciate it if someone could watch Face the Nation. My governor, Mitch Daniels, is on and he hasn't said that much yet about the stimulus money one way or the other.
Indiana has cut back their expenditures by 10%, even though we are in the black. He also has refused to use the rainy day fund (despite clamoring for this by the democrats).
Anyway, I sure want to know what he has to say.

I have to go to work any minute and will probably catch most of the shows on the c-spam re-run.

Crist thinks he can bank on FL.
Crist has pissed off so many people of Greek descent he can’t even count on Tarpon Springs.
