Obama broadens US targets in Pakistan: report

WASHINGTON (AFP) – US President Barack Obama's administration has broadened the number of radical groups targeted by the CIA inside Pakistan by attacking a militant network seeking to overthrow the Pakistani government, The New York Times reported Saturday.

The newspaper said recent missile strikes on training camps run by Baitullah Mehsud represent a broadening of the US military campaign inside Pakistan, which has been carried out largely by drone aircraft.

Under fromer president George W. Bush, the United States frequently attacked militants from Al-Qaeda and the Taliban but stopped short of targeting Mehsud and his followers.

Mehsud was identified early last year by US and Pakistani officials as the man who had orchestrated the assassination of Pakistani former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, the report said.

Bush included Mehsud in a classified list of militant leaders whom the CIA and American commandos were authorized to capture or kill, according to the paper.

However, he did not do anything to implement the authorization.

Didn’t Obama visit Pakistan in the 1980’s?

What did they do to him? He seems to have this wild hair up his butt about them.

So, he wants to pull out of Iran and mess with Pakistan instead? Perhaps not a bad idea, but we’re supposed to be saving money now.

Uh-bama is going to make Lyndon Johnson look like George Patton. Mark my words-Afghanistan will be Stuttering Barry’s Vietnam.

They really don't care about who gets killed. It just depends on who is pulling the trigger.

I think anything that is happening there is going on because military commanders are insisting on it and still have enough clout to be able to get what they want. He hasn’t found a way to get around the military with an Excutive Order.

But he will. He doesn’t seem particularly bothered by the Taleban taking over the Swat valley, and I doubt that it would bother him in the least if all of Pakistan fell. But I don’t think he’s bold enough to come right out and say this or prevent the military from doing what it needs to do. Yet.

Uh-bama is going tomake Vietnam look like child’s play. Lyndon Johnson must be laughing in Hell, finally realizing he’s no longer the 2nd worst President in history.

Having met face to face with these people a few times, I can say unequivocally that they are very scary. Besides being dangerous and destructive to people and property, if you get close enough to look them in the eyes, it’s like there’s nobody there.

If its not done right, a couple of missile strikes here and there can backfire. And obambi don’t have a damn clue about anything remotely connected to anything military...... thus instead of these additional missile strikes helping, they have hurt us.

Just this week Pakistan surrendered their judicial authority to the taliban sharia law over a part of Pakistan that did not have it.

These little pinprick strikes against “leadership” are not being followed up with pressure from the Pukeistan side, thus these leaders are quickly replaced faster than ever. The strikes being painted by the new Sharia cops as murderous infidel American attacks against babies and women.

Soon we will see these training camps operating in the open surrounded by hospitals and other “non”targets. Marches of tens of thousands of folks rounded up by Sharia police to do their lemming walk for the cameras.

obambi is worthless.

Obama broadens US targets in Pakistan

So, .... ummmm .... tell me again why it is O.K. for Obama to bomb Pakistan because it is used by the enemy as a safe haven but it was not O.K. for Nixon to bomb Cambodia because it was used by the enemy as a safe haven.

Does the answer have anything to do with the fact that Obama has a (D) after his name and Nixon had an (R) after his name?

Just curious.

If you are of course talking about the Code Pink types I know exactly what you mean... I lived in various parts of California. There seems to be a Bermuda Triangle for sentient consciousness between North SF Bay, South Monterey county and Santa Clara county.
