People using Carbon 14 dating do make mistakes...see thread from FR:

Scientists do not all agree on the age of the earth, and that should raise some red flags...so I choose the less than 10,000 yrs old as my belief.

I saw the Shroud of Turin when it was in Atlanta...1979 I believe.
