Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn and other Democratic officials Friday called on Sen. Roland Burris to resign from the Senate, which is investigating him for possible perjury. The White House added pressure on the embattled lawmaker to explain his actions leading up to his appointment.
"To step aside and resign is, I think, a heroic act, and I ask Roland to do that," Mr. Quinn said at a news conference in Chicago.
The governor said that if the senator does not resign from President Obama´s former seat, state lawmakers should enact legislation to fill the Senate seat by a special election instead of a gubernatorial appointment, a suggestion that drew immediate approval from state Republican leaders.

Today Burris...tomorrow Obama.
They need to leave Burris alone. We’ve got a corrupt congress and administration. He fits right in.
"We think 'Pay to Play' is A-OK".
All I can say is that you won't get a more honest Democrat in Chicago to serve than him.
Hey! Yomama! Do the Nixon thang.....resign.
Why should Burris resign? He’s Senator now. He’s got them where he wants them.
Since when does mere perjury cause a problem for a sitting US Senator with a (D) behind their name?
It’s hard to imagine Obambi didn’t know anything happening between Buriss and Blagojevich.
Or a US President?
If they keep going through all the Chicago thugs, the trail will lead all the way to the top. To the Thug in Chief.
In case a liberal/socialist/democRAT is reading this, yes, just like our rinos (republic in name only. I know, you dummies needed it spelled out.).
Lower case on purpose, for the grammar nazis.

As long as Chris Dodd remains in the Senate, they have no reason to call on Burris to step down.

Yeah, Obama and Durbin want Alexi Giannoulias- whose mentioned in the article. The only problem- Giannoulias was the chief loan officer for his family’s bank when they loaned 15 million bucks to an organized crime figure. But Obama supports him. The only good thing- it eliminates the middleman. Giannoulias doesn’t have to worry aboout dealing with gangland associates, he can just pick up the phone and talk to the Mob directly.
What that means is that Obama doesn't save them. Eventually he'll be out of office ~ gone from the political stage ~ and a US attorney with a need for some prosecutions is going to need to go no further than to Obama's Presidential papers on file in the National Archives to find out WHO in the mob got involved in this (and other stuff).
Then that mobster and his buddies will go to prison ~
Could it be he's a "ringer"?
I ask that not in jest since it seems he played basketball in college ~ there are treatments that'll lighten you up.
Why are they asking this guy to resign. Isn’t he a democrat who’s going to vote right along with them?
