All individuals for federal elected or appointed office must pass at the same stringent level as members of our Armed Forces, a Security Clearance Background check before they may run for election or be nominated for an appointed position. This check will be paid for upfront by the individual. If the individual passes the funds are refunded, if not the individual forfeits the funds.
Once elected/appointed the mishandling of classified information will without exception be immediately prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
