Every income tax bracket will increase by at least 3% once the Bush tax cuts expire in 2010 and not just the wealthier Americans unless by wealthier they mean anyone making over $ 15,000. These people cannot stop lying. It is beyond insane.

I am confused; this article says O'Bomber will increase taxes
A second administration official confirmed a Washington Post story that said Obama would propose boosting tax collection from about 16 percent of the economy this year to 19 percent in 2013,

I am really tired of the lying MSM. Bush cut taxes for everyone who paid Federal Income taxes. Those at the bottom got the biggest % cuts. Some were even taken off the tax rolls. Such liars and lies. Makes me sick.

jveritas (or any other posters) - do you have a full breakdown of the Bush tax cuts by bracket? I have been in more than one conversation in the past year where people absolutely refused to believe that Bush lowered taxes on every bracket and allowed many more people to not pay any taxes. I remember he created the new lower 10% bracket, and I remember that each bracket was lowered...the low and middle brackets lowered at a greater percentage than the top brackets.

The Obamists lie because they believe they can get away with it. That is the true danger of having a one-party news media: the party benefiting from such bias will be emboldened to take advantage of it by distorting facts and shading the truth, or worse.

Not only did every taxpayer benefit from the Bush tax cuts, but the people in the lower brackets received the largest percentage cuts. Of course, the mainstream news media (being partisan, lying hacks) have reported that "the rich" received the largest benefits. This lie is plausible because the increased income of the top 1% of wage earners (who represent different people every year, and frequently small businesses, to cite two more embedded lies) contained the most "dollars". The answer to which is: "So what?"

Those dollars were earned, not stolen (unless, perhaps they were earned by a congressman). They also reflect increased income due to economic growth, thanks in part to tax cuts. They also represent a smaller percentage of each "rich" filer's income than their less well-off counterparts, who benefit by the new jobs those dollars help create. The Bush tax cuts also enabled many people to leave the tax rolls entirely, so that a higher percentage of taxable income was now both earned and taxed in higher income brackets.

Just don't expect anyone in the news media to explain it. They're too busy cheerleading for Obama to ever drop the pom-poms and actually do some real work.
