Why not just establish a Cabinet Level position for the “Department of Sticking the Federal Nose into everything Department”. It seems that Obozo’s solution to the economic “crisis” is to slowly employ everyone into some sort of make believe federal job. Some days it's hard to choose between the belief that the inmates are running the asylum or government based on a “reality” show formulated on the “Lord of the Flies”.

I think what is going on here is the construction of an ACORN coordination office within the White House. Obama wants to ensure his reelection and this office will perform political duties for him to make that happen. The money is going to the cities and to ACORN. This office will make sure that it is spent "wisely", that Obama will be the hero for sending it and that the registration of more Democrats can be paid for with taxes paid by Republicans like you and me.
Obama has taken political control of the census. The next building block is control of voter registration and ultimately the votes that are (and are not) counted in the cities. He is building what he hopes will be a political machine like the one in Chicago that will live forever. That is the goal and the steps he is taking are not baby steps.
