Another Huge Spending Bill Planned For Next Week

Here we go again! House Republicans are bracing for another onslaught of out-of-control Democrat-authored spending as the omnibus bill is expected to hit the floor of the House as early as next week.

And it’ll be yet another spending bill House Republicans and the American people have not yet been allowed to see and the Democrats haven’t even bothered to read. As if the $1.2 trillion Democrats spent on “stimulus” last week wasn’t enough of a disaster, this colossal bill encompasses the remaining nine appropriations bills for fiscal year 2009 sloughed off by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

House minority leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) called upon the Speaker Thursday to release the voluminous spending bill online without delay. “If Democratic leaders plan to schedule a vote on the half-trillion dollar omnibus spending bill next week, they should post the legislation online immediately so the American people have adequate time to read the measure and understand what is in it,” Boehner said. “My colleagues in the Republican leadership and I made this request two weeks ago, and to date, our request has gone unanswered. Time is running short, and American taxpayers deserve to know how their hard-earned tax dollars will be used under this legislation.”

Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.), the House Republican Conference chairman, joined Boehner in asking again - apparently in vain -- for an open process from the secretive Democrat leadership this time around. “More than two weeks ago, House Republicans called on Speaker Pelosi to post online the text of the upcoming half-trillion dollar ‘omnibus’ spending bill, bringing it out of the shadows and before the American people,” Pence said. “So far, that call has gone unanswered. Democrats continue to spend the people’s money in secret. I renew my call for Speaker Pelosi and Chairman Obey to immediately post the text of this bill online, and allow the American people an opportunity to see how their tax dollars are being spent. As we recently learned, legislation negotiated in secret produces bad public policy. This can be avoided. We need to reopen the appropriations process to the American public.”

The omnibus spending bill was originally placed on the legislative calendar over two weeks ago, yet that proved inconvenient to ramming through the obscene “stimulus” bill. Shaky Blue Dog Democrats -- in what passes for their idea of fiscal responsibility this Congressional session -- were not comfortable with trying to pass the bloated trillion dollar “stimulus” spending bill while porking up another half-trillion in omnibus spending.

As was the case with the Obama-Pelosi “stimulus” bill, Democrats appear determined to keep this massive spending bill under wraps, too, so the American people won’t know what’s in it, and Republicans will not have time to read what has historically been a bill literally thousands of pages in length.

House and Senate Democrat apparatchiki appear unconcerned with voting on bills that their Dear Leaders have not allowed them time to read. Republicans are, however, troubled by this tyrannical behavior, as they have not even been consulted, much less informed, of the floor schedule for the omnibus bill, nor have they been told when they may be allowed to see the thousands of pages contained in these nine remaining spending bills.

House Majority Whip Calls GOP Governors Racist

Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina, the current Democrat majority whip, had some abrasive words for governors who oppose the out-of-control “stimulus” spending. As HUMAN EVENTS reported yesterday, a few Republican governors are considering rejecting some or all of the state bailout funds, and this includes South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford. Clyburn suggested at a roundtable discussion in Columbia that these governors oppose the so-called stimulus spending because they don’t like black people. WISTV reports Clyburn said, “The governor of Louisiana expressed opposition. Has the highest African-American population in the country. Governor of Mississippi expressed opposition. The governor of Texas and the governor of South Carolina. These four governors represent states that are in the black belt. I was insulted by that,” Clyburn said. “All of this was a slap in the face of African-Americans. It had nothing to do with Governor Sanford.”

A spokesman from Sanford’s office had this response, “Representative Clyburn is no stranger to playing the race card, because he has no defense for the runaway spending and the deficits contained in this so-called stimulus bill that will hurt our economy. Spending money at the federal level that we do not have represents a future tax increase on all South Carolinians, regardless of their color -- and in the process of doing so, he's ripping off everyone he claims to represent.”

“House Majority Whip Calls GOP Governors Racist”

STFU already it is getting overused, has nothing to do with anything, and if you would put some decent legislation together you wouldn’t get any backlash.

Clyburn must be one of those racial cowards Eric Holder was talking about. He seems to be afraid to come right out and say black people deserve stimulus money but white people do not.

I've been posting about this for a couple of days.

This is the FY 2009 "Omnibus spending bill." Currently, the government is operating at 2008 budget levels. Last year, Congress was unable to pass even one of the appropriations bills. This spending bill that will be brought out next week will fund the entire federal budget for the period October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009.

Also, does anyone know when the current "continuing resolution" expires? If it expires, the government shuts down. If the expiration is 2-28-2009, expect Pelosi and the Dems to say, "You can't read this, just vote for it. If you don't, you'll be the reason the government shuts down."

And the socialist DemoRats continue to BORROW AND STEAL the American citizen into near extiction -— but that is the end game. The idea is to have control over all cash resources that any opposition (includes citizens) could get to oppose them.

As has been said by many, this is the BIGGEST POWER GRAB of America in history. Your liberty, freedoms, wealth and health. All in the hands of Marxists who hate this great country.

Better yet BONER YOU should be out in force with the rest of the GOP spurring the biggest protest march and call out these basturds for what they are - instead of treating them with your uber-congressional-nice-guy-protocol.

This is the big one, the three foot thick bill with all the goodies for every democrat district, and all of the odious little nitpicking provisions hidden in it. We’ll be three trillion in the hole by Christmas.

It is rapidly approaching the time when Americans should exercise the right given them under the provisions of the Constitution to take back the government which has been perverted by the tyrannical forces now in the legislature. A confrontation of this evil is inevitable!

This is beyond ridiculous. I’m so damn mad and disgusted right now.

When the hell are people going to wake up, say enough is enough, and DEMAND that these scum sucking cretins are never allowed to get close to public office again. I keep waiting for this to happen but instead of stopping the insanity these criminals just keep getting more and more outrageous. Is there ever going to be a point when these lunatics are actually fought hard?

Scary. DOW at $4000?

No question.

Also, when the Dow drops below 6,000 it would (in my opinion) be an ideal time for folks to consider cashing in their 401K's (those that can access them).

There will be about a 50% hit with taxes and penalty if you do, but we will be reaching a time when the Federal Reserve needs to use those accounts as a liability on their balance sheet.

The only way to do this is to bring 401K's under federal government control just like the Social Security trust fund.

The government can then use those assets to buy Treasury securities through inter-governmental lending.

The Treasury would take the proceeds from the sale of securities and keep it in a supplemental Treasury account with the Fed - to be used as a liability on the Fed's balance sheet.

This will allow the Fed to purchase a huge amount of toxic debt from the big banking institutions.

The toxic debt would count as assets on the balance sheet, bringing the consolidated statement into proper alignment.
