So now responding to others is considered hijacking?
I guess you think your "pearls of wisdom" should stand without response?
The story, the honor and the respect are bigger than Kevin Bacon's personal politics.
The film is extraordinary. And while Bacon gave a terrific performance, I think half the time he wasn't acting.
Not that I care-one way or the other- but Bacon’s performance was “squared away” ; and for that, and for the movie itself, I’m happy to applaud.
I will have to hold my nose in thinking about Bacon's himself and what he believes, but I have had to do this with the majority of actors anyway.
Taking Chance. Great film! Should be required viewing in the White House. Congrats to Mr. Bacon on a job well done. And you’re right EveningStar, it was a respectful movie.
Hey do you have a problem watching Chaplin films because of his politics (and he may have been a pedophile as well). Just curious.
I would have no problem watching the movie.
However, I am pointing out the character of the actor. Actors are per capita more lacking in moral character than most other sectors of society; Bacon is no exception.
Charlie Chaplin was a skunk as well.
I read your posts. You said you would ‘hold your nose’ watching a film because of an actor. That would constitute ‘having a problem’ with watching a film. Not avoiding it altogether. Chaplin was quite brave in speaking out against Hitler when others on the mainstream Left were not doing so. I don’t know how that makes him a ‘skunk’.
I don't like people with communist sympathies. I often call them skunks; I could call them worse but the pc crowd is upset even with the milder name-calling. They may speak out against one form of dictatorship, but they have another in mind. They are not good people.
