Send more cash cards, those really worked the first time.

Can somebody post that picture of Lootie wading off with the crate full of Heineken? Lootie needs another beer bailout.

How much of this stimulus package was given to them?

``The residents of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast who are helping rebuild are heroes who believe in their communities and they are succeeding despite the fact that they have not always received the support they deserve from the federal government,'' Obama said in a statement. ``We must ensure that the failures of the past are never repeated.''

Oh really???
So Obama, where was all this 'support' for the Gulf Coast in your stimulus package???

Gulf Coast Congressman Gene Taylor - MS Democrat, was one of the only 7 Democrats who voted against the 'stimulus'!

Obama hates EVERYONE but himself!!!

OMG! We are still paying for their free rent here in Houston 3-1/2 years after the fact! Crime rate rose 25% and official police reports in 2006 and 2007 stated one in every four murders was committed by a Katrina transplant. We inherited over 5000 pedophiles. The jails were emptied and sent here.

I still see them lined up at the Texas Rehabilitative Services collecting their checks and walking across to the Walmart. Then I stand in line with them watching them buy things I can’t afford.

Give me an ever lovin’ break!!! BARF!!!! We are doomed.

Hey Obama! The spending bill that you were too lazy to write that you allowed Pelosi to write! Guess what! Not a dime directed to the Katrina Holocaust!

You and the Democrats are now at the wheel, jackass!

Statement: "Obama: 'Katrina Survivors Didn't Get Enough Help'"

Response: The wealth transfer rolls on. A lot of new luxury cars will be seen in Lousiana.

Amazing. We Houstonian “Ike Survivors” were hit about six months ago, and are well recovered. We don’t need any help. “Katrina survivors” were hit three years ago, and still can’t recover? I don’t get it.

Of course not a word about Governor Blank-0 who obstructed not only Federal aid, by also volunteers from other states.
But, must not let facts get in the way of the political agenda.

The U.S. Government did react to Katrina, and quicker than they are getting credit for.

From a 2006 GAO Report.

“Coast Guard officials reported that air and boat operations, which involved rescuing or evacuating over 33,500 people, were conducted over a period of 17 days without any accidents or casualties. Rescue operations began quickly, with the first rescue occurring approximately 9 hours following Hurricane Katrina’s landfall on August 29, 2005. By 12 hours after landfall, approximately 29 Coast Guard helicopters were conducting rescues over New Orleans.”

Coast Guard Vice Admiral Thad Allen (replaced the FEMA Director) interviewed by Amanda Ripley of Time

Are there any misconceptions that have taken hold about Katrina that you’d like to debunk?

Yeah, this is a personal opinion. We need to [consider] what the public perceives FEMA’s role should have been and what statutorily FEMA’s role is. Their protocol for a disaster is that locals go to the states, states go to the Federal government, and they bring resources in. When we hit that tipping point and the city flooded, it was not within FEMA’s mission, capabilities or competency to go out and direct actual rescue operations. The Coast Guard came in and did it because we’re trained to do that. And whatever issues there are with FEMA as an organization, I hope the public does not generalize to a larger responsibility for FEMA. No matter what anybody’s issue is, there’s a tendency to say the problem is FEMA. I don’t think that’s true.

There’s a personal accountability issue here. Absent something like a flood where you’re actually forced out of your house I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think that folk should be able to last [on their own] for maybe 48, 72 hours. If you run a nursing home that is six floors high in an area with 90% humidity and 90 degrees, [should] you have an emergency generator that only lasts 10 hours? I mean, have we come to the state in this country where all of a sudden the absence of electricity is a disaster?

They got too much when they were out buying designer clothes & handbags. I don’t feel sorry for them. Unless people start helping themselves I’m not going to help them anymore. Too many people live on the dole & its coming home to roost.

The people under discussion are prettymuch Black Trash. There is nothing that can be done to change that. They lack the basic skills to live like real people.

Rebuilding NO three years after Katrina?

That's nothing. They're still rebuilding Detroit 40 years after the 1968 riots. Rebuilding vacant lots, that is.
