Friedrich Hayek was an inspiration to Milton Friedman and Margaret Thatcher. He was the anti-Keynes...but his philosophy of economics was rejected for Keynesian philosophy. Ultimately, Keynes ideals were proven bankrupt and Hayek was embraced.

Today, Obama is leading us down a Keynesian path. Here is the result. (Note: Road to Serfdom is a fully published book. Hayek made the cartoon version as a primer only!)

WOW!!!

GREAT POST! Thanks for going through the trouble of finding that and posting it.

Hayek was as student of Ludwig Von Mises, who could not get a teaching job or university job in a global university system owned by Keynsians and Statists.

The Nobel committee did not want to give any kind of recognition to Mises, but almost had to give the Nobel Prize to Hayek for his work - much to their distaste.

Here is the famous Readers Digest Version (condensed) and a fantastic read.

The Road is a terrific book. Over sixty years after initial publication it is a prescient road map to our eventual life under socialist tyranny. My ten year old copy is dog-eared, highlighted and falling apart. I think a new Amazon soft copy is less than $8.

Hayek is the antidote to Alinsky. IMHO, Chapter 10 well explains why Rahm Emanuel is Hussein's chief of staff.

Once again, this cannot be posted enough, as it is a valuable history lesson and illustrates the road our fearless and hopeless leader is taking us down.

“In my opinion it is a grand book . . . Morally and philosophically I find myself in agreement with virtually the whole of it; and not only in agreement, but in a deeply moved agreement.” John Maynard Keynes opinion of Hayek's masterpiece.

“Road to Serfdom” is a great book! However, it can be a hard read; it was for me personally. (growing sleepy...)

Another one that is very similar, but easier to follow, is Milton Friedman’s “Capitalism and Freedom”.

And another, even easier, is Henry Hazlitt’s “Economics in One Lesson”.

All three of these are cut from the same cloth and should be on most persons’ Suggested Reading List.

National central planning is in the process of being replaced by international central planning. There will always be someone offering a ‘New Deal’.

Keynesian spending has been a huge boon in this regard. It allows the re-direction of massive amounts of capital to whatever end the person in control desires. Inflationary monetary policy is an easy way to maintain an illusion of prosperity.

Welcome to the ‘New Peace’. Welcome to the ‘New Prosperity’. All hail the ‘New World Order’! ‘Change’, anyone?

(WTH was wrong with the old peace and prosperity, anyway?)

In step 8, it isn’t the least educated, but those who think they are educated, after 5 years of binge drinking and studying what used to be high school material, who are the problem these days.

Sad to say it, but college these days is a process to replace common sense with stylish sophistry. If a person doesn’t know the difference between Plato and Descartes then it doesn’t matter if they did read a Mayo Angelo poem for a class once upon a time. The group that thinks they are smart thinks that they have all the answers—and they are all so simple and easy—and only if the stupid people on the other side were controlled, then there would finally be social justice. The fact that this group is ninety percent of the news media does not help matters.

Thank you for posting this. We see what he’s trying. What do we do to stop it? Many Dems are also beginning to see it and some they aren’t liking it.
