Mr. Santelli’s tax returns will be investigated. Unlike Hussein’s cabinet member’s tax returns.

Gibbs insisted Santelli was misinformed when he said Obama’s program would amount to a transfer of money from prudent taxpayers to those who had taken reckless risks.

Well someone is certainly misinformed Mr. Gibbs. That's for sure.

I don't see how you can describe what is taking place any other way, but hey, you Washington insiders are always out of touch with the reality the rest of the nation has to live with.

We have middle income people paying out tens of thousands of dollars in federal, state, and local taxes, not to mention other "FEES".

Why shouldn't hard working people be bitter about this? If they were allowed to keep more of their money, they would be better prepared for these economic downturns. But no, you assholes in Washington have the situation gamed to the point they are generally only a few paychecks from disaster. And now you folks have provided one, planed from the get go.

What really bothers you folks, is that Santelli nailed you for what you are up to, and you can't stand that he is right, and people know he is.

That's the beauty of the First Amendment you are intent on destroying. So F you and the pony you rode in on Gibbs.

"I’m not entirely sure where Mr. Santelli lives or in what house he lives but the American people are struggling every day to meet their mortgages, stay in their jobs, pay their bills, send their kids to school,” Gibbs said."

I'm not entirely sure where Mr. Gibbs lives or in what house he lives but the American TAXPAYERS are struggling every day to understand how in the Sam Hill taking MORE of their money, and their children's and grand-children's money, and giving it to speculators and deadbeats is going to help the economy. From where I sit, this looks like punishing good behavior, and subsidizing bad behavior.

My 401k is down 35%+ - the one I have diligently scrimped and saved to fund over my 28-year career. I've never missed a mortgage payment, never carried credit card debt, never been late on a bill. I've foregone nice dinners, expensive vacations, and a bigger house. I've put 1 child through college on my own dime, because the goverment doesn't think I should get any of my own tax money back in the form of a tuition credit. I have 2 more children in college, on my own dime for the same reason.

Yet I'm being told that I am not doing enough. That I'm either greedy or un-patriotic for not wanting to bail out people that made bad investment decisions. WHERE IS MY BAIL-OUT?

I'll see Mr. Santelli, and hopefully millions of others like myself at the Chicago Tea-Party in July!!

Any truth to the rumor that Robert Gibbs is being sent to the Norm Crosby School Of Public Oratory for a remedial class on speaking the english language in public?

At first I didn't understand the $75B bailout for homeowners in danger of losing their homes, but after a brief period of thought, it all became crystal clear. You see, typically when democrats buy votes, they try to get more bang for their buck with our tax dollars. On the surface this proposal would appear to only net 9 million voters plus possibly the immediate families of the homeowners at a cost of over $8,000 per home. I was thinking to myself why wouldn't democrats do nothing and endear themselves to the tens of millions of poor renters out there who have been scraping and saving and waiting for lower home prices, since without this government assistance, home prices would undoubtedly go lower and make homes even more affordable to these “poor renters.” That would be the fair thing to do, but this isn't about fairness. What I came to realize was that these “poor renters” are responsible individuals and are in all likelihood not democrats, while the irresponsible homeowners who lied about their incomes to get a mortgage and purchased their homes at the top of the market are most probably democrats. So rather than a vote buying operation by the administration, this turns out to be pure and simple pay back for their loyal irresponsible followers who view themselves as entitled to this taxpayer-funded subsidy.

Hey, really.
If they’re gonna bailout banks and the UAW - why not pay-off everyone’s mortgages while they’re at it?
What’s the problem?
It would only take about $1.2 trillion to pay-off every single-family occupied home mortgage in the US.

And, not just some program to REFINANCE, but to PAY IT OFF!
Instead of giving it to banks and automakers, why not just give it to the homeowners so every home in America will be free and clear?
Then if a depression/recession hits, at least everybody’s home is paid for.
Why not?
