Ummm... my recollection is that they are closing the accounts and mailing checks to the account holders. But they are not reporting the account holders to the IRS.

Most violators will simply send the checks on to the Caymans.

Quite frankly I am surprised UBS will violate Swiss banking laws. They should tell Obammy to go soak his head in salt water and learn to catch the tax cheats on the US side of the borders. Quit trying to make other countries violate their own privacy laws.

For years, I’ve been curious about politicians and offshore accounts. And, not just Beltway pols, I’m talking mayors, city councils, county commissioners, the works. In my county I know there are tens of millions of dollars in which the accountability has been, shall we say, very sloppy.
