RUSH: Elizabeth in Washington, DC, nice to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.
CALLER: Hey, Rush, dittos.
RUSH: Thank you.
CALLER: I'm calling about the cartoon. I finally got to see it because my newspaper reprinted it today. And the cops who shot the chimp, that's not a racist cartoon, that's sexist. That's old Nancy Pelosi lying there on the sidewalk.
RUSH: Yeah, let me describe, for those who haven't heard it, or seen it. In fact, I have a Dittocam, for those of you unaware of it we televise the program each and every day on RushLimbaugh.com for members, my website. Yeah, I love that camera, it sees everything I do. I have to turn on the bars to have any measure of privacy in here. It's a radio show and it's on television. I have to worry about what shirt I'm wearing every day, otherwise people write me about that. All right, now, I'm going to hold the cartoon up for those of you who have not seen it. Can I get tight enough even here and have it stay in focus? All right, you can't read it, probably, but you got two cops shooting a chimpanzee, right? That's Sean Delonas in the New York Post cartoon yesterday. Here is what one cop says to the cop who shot the chimpanzee: "They'll have to find somebody else to write the next stimulus bill." Now, what Elizabeth's point is, is that Obama didn't write it. Nancy Pelosi did. But if you watch the mainstream media, you don't know that.
Sean Delones, the cartoonist, obviously is more informed than the people having a cow over this. Did you watch Miami local TV news last night, by the way? Why not? Well, I seldom. I don't watch this local news, but I mean the local news in Miami was out rabble-rousing last night. They were getting groups, angry civil rights groups, "We're marching on the Post, this is outrageous," exactly what I predicted. I predicted that the race industry would only intensify, that any little criticism of Obama would be cast as racism. So this is a play on that chimpanzee that went nuts the other day up in Stamford, Connecticut, the cops had to shoot, and the caption here, one cop to another: They'll have to find somebody else to write the next stimulus bill. Obama didn't write the stimulus bill. He delegated it. I don't know that he's even read it. I don't know how many people have read it front-to-back. But if anything is being lampooned here, it's Nancy Pelosi. She's the one who wrote the thing, and then Harry Reid got hold of it and stuck his train in there, Disneyland to Las Vegas. So even as we speak Al Sharpton is leading a protest outside the building housing the New York Post in New York. Now, let's not forget, of course, how many editorial cartoons there were for the past eight years depicting George W. Bush as some kind of monkey, shall we not?
Sharpton, Activists Protest New York Post Cartoon
FReep the poll on this link!
Sharpton has to get hustle time.
I don't find the cartoon terribly funny but I find Sharpton's response simply hilarious.
Sharpton's response is indicative of how Liberals view African-Americans more than anything.
It is Libs who view African-Americans as hopeless, helpless nincompoops who are incapable of wiping their own butts without some sort of government program to do the deed for them.
In short, they are projecting.
"..Tawana Brawley controversy
Attorneys Alton H. Maddox and C. Vernon Mason joined Sharpton in support of Brawley. A grand jury was convened; after seven months of examining police and medical records, the jury determined that Brawley had fabricated her story. Sharpton, Maddox, and Mason accused the Dutchess County prosecutor, Steven Pagones, of racism and of being one of the perpetrators of the alleged abduction and rape. The three were successfully sued for slander and ordered to pay $345,000 in damages, the jury finding Sharpton liable for making seven defamatory statements about Pagones, Maddox for two, and Mason for one.[35].."
I do not know if he paid.
Where in the Hell is Jessie? Couldn’t get a plane?
Since Obama didn’t write the stimulus plan how could anyone assume the dead monkey was supposed to represent him? I thought it represented all the idiots in the House who wrote the bill.
I remember when Al was protesting this cartoon by Pat Oliphant mocking Condi Rice http://www.americandigest.org/mt-archives/po041116-thumb.gif please can some one help to get this pic on the board thanks!
Seems like I ought to buy more ammo... Bad things are going to happen.
Last night on Alan Colmes’ radio show, he grilled a caller about this cartoon. Alan just kept calling the guy a racist. He clearly was not of course, but Alan cannot be reasoned with as you know.
I wish the caller had brought up how the libs said Bush looked like a chimp all these years. Evidently Alan chose not to acknowledge that ever happened.
Having looked at this cartoon for the first time today, I see no reference at all to Obama. Seems like the point of the cartoon is that the Porkulus is so bad, it seems to have been written by an ape.
Agreed...to me it is a slap at the pasty-faced, botox-injecting speaker of the house.
One of the early morning posts on NewsBusters pointed out the Pelosi-Chimp connection, too.
Pelosi (and Reid) wrote the bill
Imagine the outrage if the cartoonist had taken the obvious next step and had drawn a Pelosi hairdo on the chimp!!
I thought we were taught in government schools that we were all descended from primates. Are we to believe now that that was not accurate?
Yes. It's reminiscent of the riddle which asked, "How many years would it take 100 monkeys to correctly type Hamlet?"
I guess the real question is,
"How many minutes would it take 50 Democrats to remove obsolete documents from dusty file drawers in order to assemble them into a 1000-page stimulus bill."
Hey, If you put enough “lipstick” on that Ape, it’s still a PelosiReidPorculusSenate!
Do you find this cartoon offensive?
No 85%
At the time of this post.
“Shovel ready.”
LOL!
The cartoon is perfect!
