About 30% of the voting public responds to sound ideology, the remaining 70% have to be cajoled with cunning just like the Dems are dong now.

I think you will find that more than 95% of people that didn't buy more house than they can afford don't want to subsidize some other idiots mistake when they still gotta make their OWN house payment. I bet a very high percentage of concious homeowners vote too.

It's starting to seem like this was a calculated political game by the RNC, Rush and others starting back in October.

Once they saw that McCain was going to lose, and that Obama's poll numbers were so high, they seemingly (grudgingly) embraced Obama for a couple of months. Even the BEST president with the BEST economic policy & team would be challenged. With an incompetent boob like Obama at the helm -- he'd have a snowball's change in h*ll of fixing the economy.

It may seem like a risky game of Hot Potato, seemingly sitting on your hands until the new administration comes in, seemingly letting the economy tank with millions of people losing trillions of dollars of their retirement portfolio...

BUT if it was going to happen ANYWAY, you wouldn't want to be the elected official left holding the Spud.

Obama: 67%
Democrats: 48%

And please don’t try to discredit the polls because their are many out there that reflect these same numbers. And we tried the dicrediting in Nov 2008 and look how that turned out.

We either get on board and play the game or we will be dead on arrival in 2010 again. Once Republicans are pegged as the party of “NO” and it sets in, that’s the end game. Just look at 1934 to 1994 as a guide. The GOP has to get in gear and come up with viable alternatives that resounds with the public, market the hell out of it, appear to be working hard with the opposition and then campaign like hell on it in 2010. The PR game is being lost in a very very bad way.
