All passengers on board a cruise ship that ran aground in Antarctica were transferred Wednesday to a sister ship...
Passengers from the Ocean Nova were transferred to the Clipper Adventurer, also operated by Quark Expeditions, to be carried to Ushuaia, Argentina, the city closest to Antarctica.
The Ocean Nova went aground Tuesday in Marguerite Bay near San Martin, an Argentinian base in Antarctica. The vessel was carrying 106 people, 65 passengers and 41 crew, Quark said.
Divers from a Spanish naval vessel found no visible damage during a preliminary inspection ...

as long as everyone was safe and extracted, it’s too bad it didn’t ram a green peace vessel instead of running aground.

These damn ecotourists are destroying Antarctica with their shipwrecks. What is this? Three in the last year? If they want to see penguins, they need to do what the rest of us do. Rent the “Happy Feet” DVD.

this has happened before... a ship of eco-nutsThey should be billed pro rata for the cost of their extraction.
Of course, libs don't pay their bills, tax or otherwise, so I guess this is a moot point.

This is why I hang up on those “You’ve won a cruise!” phone calls.
This is #4? or #5? in the last few years. Too much ‘deep green ecology’ going on, not enough piloting.

I’ve seen pics of some of the Antarctic research stations. They look like garbage dumps.
Watched that tv series on climbing Mt.Everest last year.
It was appalling the debris and garbage on the side of the mountain.
Including human bodies lying on the sides of the trail.
It’s disgusting.

Of course, it is near the end of summer and the ice levels at the Antarctica are almost at their seasonal lowest levels before starting to grow again in about 4 -6 weeks. This time of the year if about the only time that they can really good tours of the Antarctica.

pay for rescue before they leave for their eco-nut tour

Obviously a made-up story. The ocean levels are rising, no way a ship would run aground.

You will notice that the Greenies are always telling us how to do things. But they usually are the first to “break” there so called rules. And the U.S. Military which almost always will clean up and rebuild an area that before was destroyed during combat operations. Gets accused of being environmentally unsound. And they wonder why we hate libs so damn much.

I've seen ads of wonderful cruises to Alaska, to see the glaciers bordering the sea and visiting the old ports along the coast and islands. Even though I don't like the cold, the cruises are appealing.
Antarctica? I'm sure it's beautiful in some sort of pristine way.
But there's little to do, little to see and I sure don't want to grab lunch at a Norwegian weather station with birds in tuxedos waiting table, sitting next to some Global Warming couple going on about the crisis of the planet heating up while I'm freezing my ass off.
Besides....these idiots head down there in our winter months (which are summer months below the Equator) to watch some ice pack cave into the sea under the pressure of the snow and ice that built up over the Antarctic winter and claim some misguided empirical theoretical victory.
A sensible ship's captain would have marooned 'em there.
