Underage father Alfie Patten is the victim of a scam to make as much money as possible out of media deals, it has been claimed.
Chantelle Stedman was told by her mother to say that 13-year-old Alfie was the baby's father so that they could cash in on their incredible story, according to a close friend of Chantelle's parents.
Clive Sim, 39, claims that the schoolgirl was ordered to keep quiet about sleeping with other boys so that the 'teenage dad' story could be sold to newspapers for thousands of pounds.
Mr Sim,who has known Chantelle's parents for years, said: 'Penny told Chantelle to keep quiet about other boys because they wouldn't get any money.
'They know that Alfie being the dad makes a better story. I think there's a big scam going on here.'
The sensational claims come as bookmakers Paddy Power have been taking bets on who is the father of week-old baby Maisie Roxanne with Alfie still favourite.
It has been suggested that there are another six potential fathers - although Chantelle, 15, is said to be distraught at the allegations.
Alfie has said he wants to take a DNA test to prove that he is the child's father.
Both Alfie and Chantelle's parents are believed to have netted thousands of pounds in media deals so far.
But Mr Sim claims that Alfie is being 'exploited' by the families to make as much money as possible.
'It's all pretty sordid,' he told the Mirror. 'Alfie may not be an angel and nor is Chantelle. But at the end of the day they are only children and it is the adults around them making bad decisions based on money, not their welfare.

My money still says there's no way Alfie is the father. But now I am curious!
I guess it says wonderful things about society that creating a story like this is perceived as valuable.

I guess their scam worked.
Do the DNA, FOLKS, sheesh!
The poor mkid coulda been on the child support hook.
The kid looks all of 9 years old. We already knew there was no way he was the father.
Uh, ok, I’ll bite. Why is a teenage pregnancy in the news? I’m guessing this Alfie dude is a celeb or something?
Yeah! What’s it all about, Alfie?
What’s it all about...?
Six (6) other potential Fathers and she’s 15?
Sensationalism over morality.
“Why is a teenage pregnancy in the news? Im guessing this Alfie dude is a celeb or something?”
Because they intend to get rid of the pesky laws against adult child sex, just like parts of Europe.
It became news when the Daily Mail took this teen mother's word that the pre-pubescent, 4' tall Alfie Patten was the father and ran with it. People were shocked at how a boy who hadn't even hit puberty could sire children. Turns out it isn't true (or at least won't be true once a paternity test is administered).
This story is also news as it hit the press the same time Octomom did just as both countries are experiencing an economic crisis. Both stories served to highlight the vast resources spent on welfare for non-working baby machines as tax paying citizens are struggling to get by.
Just as I said. That boy could tug on his wiener for the next 2 years before he’d ever squeeze a droplet of spirit out of himself. Just like Butters.
That was not necessary.
His nickname certainly wasn't "Woody" was it?
How are they going to test him for paternity, anyway ? He still ain’t producin’. They’d have to do a blood test.
