I see an editorial cartoon combining the too real absurdity of two current events:
1. The signing of the stimulus, a nearly $800 billion dollar spending bill that Democrats forced through the House and Senate without reading. 2. The tabloidesque horror of a Connecticut chimpanzee that severely mauled a woman before being shot down by police officers it attempted to attack.
The editorial cartoonist was clearly intoning that a deranged chimp couldnt have authored a bill any worse than the boondoggle created by Nancy Pelosi in her little fiefdom we call the House of Representatives.
Like clockwork, however, the angry spoiled children of the media left race-baiting industry cried Wolf! Racist! Here we go, yet again:...

Amazing how some people fall right into the racist guilt trip...my first thoughts were associated with the recent chimp killing...a tie to the president didn't cross my mind until I read the whining on this post.
When I look at the cartoon, I see “Obama = Chimp” in the sense of incompetent “monkeying” with the economy.
When you look at the cartoon, apparently you see “Obama = Chimp” in the sense of “sometimes in the past, people have equated black people with monkeys”.
I see nothing to do with Obama’s race in my interpretation of the cartoon. But YOU do.
In my book, that makes YOU the racist — not me.
I got a good laugh from the cartoon, and I’ll continue to laugh at it without guilt, and pass it on to everyone I know that I think will appreciate the humor.
The only - and I mean ONLY people who would construe it as racist are the racists themselves - because they are the only ones comparing blacks to chimps/apes/whatever.
C'mon people. That's absurd. I look at the chimp in the cartoon and see absolutely no physical resemblance to Obama. Why do you pre-suppose that there is? Just because a.) a chimp is depicted and b.) a black man is President.
Just who is being racist in this context?
In addition, the onus is being directed toward whoever wrote the "stimulus bill", not toward the person who signed it. If anybody has a beef about the cartoon, it's Nancy Pelosi.
Finally, I'd agree it's not a particularly effective political cartoon. But that's because the target of the cartoon isn't immediately clear. See above...
For cryin' out loud, come down off your PC high horse. You're on FreeRepublic, where you're actually free to call a duck a duck.
Like I said, I knew I’d catch heat. That is fine.
But let me assure of one thing. I am not a racist...far from it. Just because I see something different from you does not make me someone who is prejudice. So please don’t make that rather extraordinary leap.
Relax folks - TRUST ME - I am on the conservative side of the fight. I hate Obama and his crooked ilk. I just happened to see something I didn’t like in this cartoon - that is all. We are stewards of free speach, no?
Better days ahead for all of us....and keep fighting the good fight.
Cheers,

Obama didn’t write the stimulus bill. Obama hasn’t read the stimulus bill. Obama doesn’t even know what he signed.
The cartoon is about those who wrote the stimulus bill.
Last I checked, Obama didn’t write the bill...he just promoted the crap out of it. But that won’t matter to the moonbats.
>> Relax folks - TRUST ME - I am on the conservative side of the fight.
I don’t doubt that. Nor do I doubt that you aren’t racist in the sense of “denigrating someone because of their race”.
But you should be mindful that there are OTHER definitions of racism besides that one.
Coddling a group solely because of their race is every bit as “racist” as denigrating that group. Voting for a man only because he is of a certain race is every bit as racist as voting AGAINST him for that same reason.
Here is a thought question: I’m sure you found the Chimpy Bushitler comparisons distasteful — but why? Because of W’s race? Now ask yourself the same thing about Obama.
Another thought question: I believe Obama is lazy, stupid and incompetent. Shiftless, if you will. These labels have at times all been applied as a stereotype to folks of certain races, including African American. Am I racist when I call Obama lazy, shiftless, stupid and incompetent?

Just like when Obama referred to Palin in his putting lipstick on a pig. The only difference is that dems always get a free pass in such situations and scream bloody murder when it happens to them.
They need to put some Anti Monkey Butt powder on it and get over it....http://www.antimonkeybutt.com/
The link to Obama is invisible. The link is to the simian congresscritters who wrote the bill, led, not by Obama, but by the botox bitch from San Francisco.
Obama was criticized for voting present often during his legislative career. He has already figured out you do it as president just sign whatever your 'Rat congress passes.
Nervous Tick and usurper,
You bring up great points - and I thought those comparisons were horrendous, unfair, thoroughly disrespectful, etc..
I assure you that Obama will NEVER EVER EVER get a pass from me due to his race. I will criticize his policies relentlessly if I think they are bad for the country - and so far he is batting 1.000 in that department.
I don’t think I’m coddling anyone. I just feel that this was indeed a back-handed way to link a chimp and the President...which I find disrespectful. Also, the undereducated masses think POTUS wrote the bill - so they’ll make the link quickly as well. I’m not saying they’re right - just that the link will be made.
And THAT leads me to another issue I have with the cartoon - it will, whether you like it or not, perpetuate the MYTH that conservatives are racist...which is horse crap. I find it quite the opposite, actually.
Well look - I hear what you’re all saying. And I think you get where I’m coming from. Cool. We agree to disagree. That is one reason that makes this country great. God Bless this great nation...and may she survive this absurd war on freedom, liberty, limited government, fiscal responsibility, common sense, capitalism and individual achievement.

It is not easy to see as far as I am concerned.
Hmmmmm, I wonder why some see it and some don’t?
Let us consider some more evidence.
“Curious OStalin”
I wondered some while ago if the owner was going to sell it to a conservative...
