“Cher”? That name sounds vaguely familiar.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the poetry of Cher.
[Why Are Catholics Silent?]
In many cases, people shouldn’t be silent in fighting this kind of stuff.
But in this case, speaking out would only help Cher. Her audience is nothing like it was before, she’s a bitter hag who is singlehandedly keeping the plastics industries solvent, and it’s ridiculous to think she’s going to have a hit with this crap.
You can bet she’s got her fingers crossed hoping for the publicity and street cred a protest will bring. If there is no protest, her CD will come and go and all her hard work making this crap will be for nothing.
The only thing dark about Cher is the empty space between her ears.
This is what happens when the only remaining members of your fan base are fags.
Well the Catholic League evidently isn't.
But if you're asking why there isn't a huge outcry from all quarters, I suspect it's because few give a rip what that irrelevent freak has to say.
Cher is so quite pleased that she found a way to be quasi-relevant once more.
Pathetic. It reads like something written by a 13yo on myspace.
Man, she sounds desperate, a 63 year old Cher that has been in the millions of dollars and sex and song for almost half a century and this is her hip new rebellion?
Catholics don't listen to this Char woman. Those that hear her are so underwhelmed that they turn their attntion to the more exciting fish wrap and cage liners.
It sounds like she’s been spending too much time with Jane Fonda.
As I recall, last year another washed-up has-been Joni Mitchell basically did the same thing.
Chair? Chair who? If I wanted dribbling screeds from a senile half wit I’d tune in her grotesqueness Helen Thomas.
People always go on about evil, nasty nuns. I admit I didn’t go to Catholic school, but in my life I’ve never met a nun I didn’t like. Maybe I like them all because they’re nice to me, and they’re nice to me because I approach them thinking in advance that I’m going to like them.
I have to say that I saw Cher in concert, because I had season tickets at the venue, this was years ago and she put on a heck of a show. For coming to our little area she brought what was basically a broadway-esque show with her. And she ‘was’ very beautiful in person.
Too bad she’s going this way. Trying to be ‘edgie’ at her age smacks of desperation and it’s pathetic. And, oh geez, attacking nuns. Now, that hasn’t been done before. /s
Sounds like Cher is entering her second childhood.
Oh the sisters of mercy, they are not departed or gone.
They were waiting for me when I thought that I just can't go on.
And they brought me their comfort and later they brought me this song.
Oh I hope you run into them, you who've been travelling so long.
Yes you who must leave everything that you cannot control.
It begins with your family, but soon it comes around to your soul.
Well I've been where you're hanging, I think I can see how you're pinned:
When you're not feeling holy, your loneliness says that you've sinned.
Well they lay down beside me, I made my confession to them.
They touched both my eyes and I touched the dew on their hem.
If your life is a leaf that the seasons tear off and condemn
they will bind you with love that is graceful and green as a stem.
When I left they were sleeping, I hope you run into them soon.
Don't turn on the lights, you can read their address by the moon.
And you won't make me jealous if I hear that they sweetened your night:
We weren't lovers like that and besides it would still be all right,
We weren't lovers like that and besides it would still be all right.
