Palin's teen daughter wishes pregnancy came later

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Bristol Palin loves motherhood, but the teenage daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she's not getting much sleep these days.

Bristol Palin says in a two-part interview on Fox News Channel's "On the Record" that she wishes her pregnancy had "happened in, like, 10 years so I could have a job and an education and be, like, prepared and have my own house and stuff."

Palin goes on to say that son Tripp, born Dec. 27, brings her so much joy, she doesn't regret having him at all. She's engaged to the baby's father, Levi Johnston.

The governor also made an appearance in the interview, which took place Sunday in Fairbanks.

Part one of the interview aired Monday night and the second part was scheduled to air Tuesday night.

You said it was a firebomb so I asked what it was. I’m out of the loop.

Why is it important for you to have a timeline for their marriage? You seem far too personally invested in their lives.

This story is a good relief for the loosers on this thread who can’t face their own life.

It makes them feel good, pure, and just glad this is the worst that is going on in the world since our economy is great, our military has a Marxist as COC and all is well.

But we can’t pretend that any part of this, other than not rending the child limb from limb, was any sort of moral triumph or uplifting story.

Bristol Palin will not be going on WIC anytime soon, and her son will not be growing up to mug you or I in the street. Those are my 2 main problems with many single moms, and it is not an issue in this case, so moral victory achieved!

Thank You!

The marriage is the traditionally sanctioned ritual of family commitment; I thought this would be common knowledge on a purportedly conservative website.

Being unable to make that commitment with a child already born indicates strongly that that commitment just isn’t there, although Bristol may hold out hope than one day he’ll be up to it (or not, again, I don’t assume that the father is the one preventing this).

Why is it SOOOOO important to you that they get married right away?

Therein lies the bigger question. Why is any of this important to anyone here? Some seem to think that Sarah Palin invited unlimited scrutiny of her life and the lives of anyone within three degrees of her for having the audacity to be a governor and take the VP spot on McCain's ticket.

It seems to me that these trivial details of the personal lives of her children only became an issue when the NYTs and other far left media decided that anything was fair game if it served to hurt Sarah Palin's political chances with the right.

Those lefties made a calculated decision. They looked at the news stands at the grocery checkout and saw where a lot of people put their priorities. Other people's private lives. Not their own lives, not politics, not public policy. Checking on Britney's panty status is where most of these people's noses are.

You assume that the child will turn out well, or merely that its dysfunction will be confined to Alaska?

Our leaders, by definition, LEAD. All of the decisions of someone people are pushing for President are relevant.

Now, having said that, I think that most of this happened behind Palin’s back, and she was presented with a fait accompli of two irresponsible children.

But pretending that children relying on their parents to raise those children’s children is some sort of moral victory is obtuse.

So you don't think its prudent for these two teens to get their lives in order before they get married? Again, Bristol has said they will eventually. Why is that not good enough for you? Why does the marriage need to occur in your time?

I get the feeling you are one of those 'right wingers' SNL proofed when said Sarah was 'forcing' two unwilling teens to get married. Marriage is a huge decision. Let them take their time.

No, Bristol has said “eventually, we’d like to get married.”

Many teenagers would like to start a band and become rock stars—eventually reality intrudes.

The need of the child is for committed parents today, not ten years from now when they finally get around to it.

If they’re not up to that commitment TODAY, the responsible thing to do is to find parents who will, and admit they made life-altering decisions immaturely and irresponsibly.

Obtuse is thinking that the decisions of Bristol and Levi have anything to do with Sarah Palin's decisions much less her political philosophy and public policy stances.

You may now go back to checking on Britney's panties.

Are you suggesting they give up their baby for adoption?

So Sarah Palin has no control over her minor children?

If yes, then she’s from an alien civilisation and I can’t support her for President; if no, then we are interested in her decisions in this process—if she wants to continue to put herself forward as a public figure.

So you’d rather have them get married even though they aren’t ready for it. Perfect. So being married makes you a better parent than if you weren’t married?

Nice try; read what is written.

If they’re not willing to commit to each other and the child now, they have no business trying to raise the child.

I suspect you wouldn’t support her for president anyway because she and her family don’t meet your standards.

I’ve read the thread/posts. I didn’t see that you said it. That’s why I asked.
