At 3 a.m. mountain time, former Border Patrol agent Jose Compean was released from the Elkton Federal Prison in Elkton, Ohio. Former agent Ignacio Ramos was released about five hours later from the Phoenix Federal Prison in Phoenix, Ariz.
Ramos and Compean will officially be released from Federal Bureau of Prison custody on March 20th, but on Tuesday both were allowed to rejoin their families. They had been in prison since January 2007.
Ramos and Compean were in prison for shooting drug smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete Davila and then trying to cover it up.
On President Bushs last day in office, Jan. 19, 2009, he commuted the sentences of the two former Border Patrol agents.
KFOX has a crew in Phoenix covering the reunion and we will have much more on KFOX News at Six, KFOX News at Nine, and kfoxtv.com.
Have been praying for them since this whole mess started. God Bless them and their families.
“wonder if Rush or Hannity could use a couple of bodyguards.”
Hannity surrounds himself with rabid lobsters that escaped from Lobster Gram. Much like Willard had his rats, Hannity has his lobsters! “Kill Pinchy, Kill!”
Marc Rich, the guy who failed to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes, he can own a firearm. These guys can’t.
Drudge has a link indicating Cheney was furious with bush for not granting a full pardon to Libby. Cheney pleaded up to the last day but due to bush’s stubbornness it was not even discussed. Bush really screwed America with his “compasionate conservatism” socialism.
WOO HOO!
Shift Change...
Scooter's sentence was commuted by President Bush a long time ago.
Time Zone differences ...might have been 5 am in Ohio.
This is probably the big news referrenced in the earlier Glenn Beck thread.
Finally. Hope they will be conmpensated. A great injustice was done to them.
I worry about them becoming targets for the Mexican drug cartels out there. I'm wondering if anyone in their family can legally carry. I don't know what the Laws are for family members of convicted felons being able to own and carry weapons. Somebody needs to keep these guys safe.
Ping!
Amen, Amen, Amen. I hope the media will stay the hell out of their faces now and let them reunite with their families and live in peace.
Actually, not the correct outcome. The correct outcome would have been a full pardon.
Yes a FULL AND COMPLETE PARDON WAS IN ORDER. Bush should have done this a long time ago!!!
This is good news-GW should have expunged the felony charges as well(if possible?).This(and Haditha)had my blood boiling and got me motivated.I assume there is still a site taking donations?I’d like to think my modest donation helped.Think in the aggregate-maybe a few thousand(or more:)concerned citizens sending in $10 at a pop adds up.
Now Bush can resume working on building his Presidential Library,...... in Mexico City.
About time.
Geat news, finally. One of the most sorry things Bush ever allowed to continue as long as it did.
