Actually he won the case because they rechecked and found that he wasn’t the wanted man.

I was once arrested (at gunpoint) because I looked like someone wanted for murder. I spent the day with them checking and rechecking my fingerprints and other info. They even had my drivers license. Before turning me loose they showed me how closely my prints matched and also showed a mug shot of the wanted man who I also strongly resemble.

I would have arrested me too.
