The South won’t remain GOP...people vote for winners...influence. A regional GOP is a castrated party. Your state has already gone to the dark side...two Dems as Senators and voted for the first time in what 50 years or so for a Dem president...you are living in a Democrap state...eve have a Dem governor. You are a Southern state.

A regional GOP is a castrated party.

The GOP has castrated itself without any hint of "regionalism". How? By acting like liberals for the last 8 years. The party has been leaning leftward for quite a while, and has lost membership as a result. That almost all Republicans voted against this bloated bill is but a small sign that they might have learned a lesson by losing the last 2 election cycles by a large margin.

I left the party in 2005 when, through their attempt to ram amnesty through under the cover of darkness, the party alienated every conservative in this country. They showed complete disdain for the plethora of citizens that did NOT want their country overrun by foreigners who had absolutely no allegiance to the United States.

True, and south of the Rappahannock nothing has changed. Your state's history is one of aggression and federalism. My state,VA, has a history of standing up to the Federalists(albiet for the wrong reason)and aggressors. With work, there is hope that VA will be a conservative state again, will NY be an aggressor again?
