during the election of 1944 (Roosevelt had an Ohio VP named Bricker)

In 1944 Roosevelt had a Missouri VP named Harry Truman. Bricker was a GOP Senator. In 1940 Roosevelt's VP was the commie Henry Wallace of Iowa. In 1932 and 1936 his VP was John Nance Garner of Texas.

Yeah, Governor (he wasn’t Senator until 1946) Bricker was Dewey’s running mate in ‘44.

Mistype...this would be the GOP candidate Thomas Dewey had a vice-president from Ohio...won Ohio but still lost the presidency. The point is that the GOP has never won the presidency without Ohio and has lost the presidency with Ohio only twice...Nixon (60) and Dewey (44). Sorry for mistake.
