You are correct. It may rival the 89th Congress in that respect. What did we have back then, something like 28 in the Senate? LBJ and the ‘Rats had a free hand. And it was a disaster. We may be poised to enact Great Society II, as opposed to New Deal II.

68D-32R in the 89th Congress (1965-67). However, that was not the breakdown for Liberal vs. Conservative. A number of those R’s were left-wingers (such as Socialist Jacob Javits of NY).
