4th Annual TEXAS COWBOY MEMORIAL SHOOT
October 16-18, 2009 ~ Seagoville, TX
The North Texas FReepers are most happy to host this years annual TEXAS COWBOY Memorial Shoot. Please join us in this gathering to once again celebrate the life and memory of Elroy and his notion of fun and friendship.

Location: 5 miles south of Route 175 and 3.5 miles NE of I-45 (exit 270) on S. Belt Line Road, near Seagoville, TX This is privately leased land with exclusive use for the weekend.
We will be camping out there that weekend. Y'all are invited to join us for as long as you can stay.
There is plenty of room for camping and we can set up as many as 3 isolated ranges and a free for all along the river. There are also gongs along the river edge at 400 yards. There are no range Nazi's, but the owner has asked for $16 a head for the weekend use of it. He promised to provide picnic tables and exclusive use.
The road in is a bit rough and there is a steep but short hill. So anyone without a high clearance vehicle will have to park up top and we will caravan them in. Or for the daring, We will have a winch to pull ya back up. There will be a modest latrine / shower tent set up as well as a fire pit and some cooking equipment, grills, screen tent, and a 7K watt generator if anyone needs power for their camper. It's a good size parcel, so folks can camp away from the shooting area on flat land near trees or in open area. Plenty of room for dogs too! There are motels within 10 miles in Seagoville.
Area Hotel Information Can Be Found HERE!
A private room will reserved at the "Cotton Gin" in Crandall for diner after the shoot for those that prefer not to camp cook. Besides the great food, it also has free Wi-Fi.
Check Out The Crandall Cotton Gin HERE!
Camping will be the plan for the weekend. The property is a very large wooded area next to a river. It's less than five miles NE of exit 280 of I45 on E. Belt Line Road. Many folks prefer to camp out and cook out at the land, so let's make it a side dish ta pass and bring your own meat to grill (or share) We will be setting up camp early Friday, so if y'all want to take the day off and join in, that would be most kind!
The weather should be great and the TX State Fair will still be open for those that might want to attend.

They have great cameras and Allegra hates that guy.I don't hate him; I just think he's an obnoxious, arrogant jerk.
The video is pretty darn good, though.
The guy's still a jerk, however.

Thanks for the ping.
We did understand later why your favorite (s/) guy had to be so close to his target with the M2....he can't hit anything further than that.

It was not a good day for a tennis ball. Of course it was.
Tennis balls are masochists.

Yep thread is still going.
Yesterday I had my oil changed and transmission flushed and filled. First time since just before the shoot.
The owner of the place, and a couple of others, who was also working in the pit yesterday, came to tell me my car was finished. He asked, "Did you get stuck in the mud?" The answer,
would be "yes". Apparently quite a bit of the Trinity bottoms is still on the splash pan of my car.
I'll have to take care of that when I get back from the frozen wastes of Nebraska. I'll need to wash off the salt anyway, most likely.

There is a nice river crossing close to the bat cave near Mason, where you can get that stuff washed off with no effort at all. No worries about getting stuck, it's rock bottom.
