Daniel 8:11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the tamid was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
This whole concept of "debt shall make you free" is so whacked that I've got to wonder if the tamid (the perpetual thing) is something simple and obvious (axiomatic), like... the truth.
Psalms 40:11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually [tamid] preserve me.
Daniel 8:12 And an host was given him against the tamid by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
v. 11 the place of his sanctuary was cast down
v. 12 it cast down the truth to the ground
The powers of darkness are disguising שקר (shaqar, to lie) as its lookalike שקד (shaqad, to be vigilant, alert, to be studious, to persevere).
Hosea 4:1 Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
That's where you nailed it!
And I sure don't want to take these things out of context but time and again, He has warned of such judgements to be ignored at our peril...
In Version La Reina Valera 1960 interestingly translates your tamid as: "[His] truth always guards me (as a contining process)". And then there are those that think all this is mere folly, somehow just "coincidence", "luck of the draw", yeah, right. Cause/effect, there are consequences for all that is done.
