Just asking, but are beheadings common in western New York? I used to spend a lot of time in that neck of the woods and I don't remember decapitation as a routine form of murder. Yet the killing of Aasiya Hassan seems to have elicited a very muted response.
When poor Mrs Hassan's husband launched his TV network to counter negative stereotypes of Muslims, he had no difficulty generating column inches, as far afield as The Columbus Dispatch, The Detroit Free Press, The San Jose Mercury News, Variety, NBC News, the Voice of America and the Canadian Press. The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle put the couple on the front page under the headline "Infant TV Network Unveils The Face Of Muslim News".
But, when Muzzammil Hassan kills his wife and "the face of Muslim news" is unveiled rather more literally, detached from her corpse at his TV studios, it's all he can do to make the local press - page 26 of Newsday, plus The Buffalo News, and a very oddly angled piece in the usually gung-ho New York Post, "Buffalo Beheading: Money Woe Spurred Slay".
Oh, really? He beheaded her for some goofy clause in the insurance policy? Not exactly:
An upstate TV exec who set up a channel promoting Muslims as peace-loving people was stressed about his failing business in the days before he allegedly chopped off his estranged wife's head, a friend of the couple said today.
Ah.
"He was worried about the station's future," said Dr. Khalid Qazi, a friend of the couple and president of the Muslim Public Affairs Council of Western New York, who last spoke to the Hassans a week ago...
"Domestic violence is despicable, and Islam condones it in no way whatever," he said.
"Murders are being committed in the US every day by people of all faiths."
Well, maybe. But for sheer news value you'd think this one might stand out. Look at this picture. That's the very definition of "moderate Muslim". Look at the late Aasiya Hassan, beautifully coiffed, glossy-lipped. On countless occasions since 9/11, I've found myself at lunch or dinner in New York, London, Washington, Paris or some other western city, sitting next to a modern Muslim woman like Mrs Hassan telling me how horrified she is at how hijabs and burqas, honor killings and genital mutilation, forced cousin marriages and the disproportionate number of Muslim wives in European battered women's shelters, how all these have come to define Muslim womanhood in the 21st century. Yet Aasiya Hassan ended up no differently - all because her husband's TV network had a cashflow problem?
The media's lack of curiosity is in marked contrast to their willingness to propagandize for the launch of Mr Hassan's station. It also helps explain why the US newspaper business is dying.

While Erie County, NY District Frank A. Sedita III stated about the murder that this is the worst form of domestic violence possible, it is more pertinent to understand that the act of beheading in Islam is frequently and closely associated with honor killings.
HASSAN and Bridges TV of Buffalo has been a focus of investigation by the Northeast Intelligence Network in the past. The Northeast Intelligence Network made several inquiries to HASSAN and Bridges TV about their relationship with al Manar television - inquiries that HASSAN and his station refused to answer.

The United Nations Population Fund estimates that “as many as 5,000 women and girls a year are murdered by members of their own families, many of them for the dishonour’ of having been raped.” And these so-called “honor killings,” once a disgraceful abomination known only to Islamic nations, are gradually creeping into western society right under our noses.
Pressured by Islamic advocacy groups and the prevailing winds of political correctness, authorities and news organizations remain remarkably mute. And, in doing so, these naïve multi-cultists only pave the way for more victims of “domestic violence” at the hands of followers of Sharia, not local, law.
Let’s never forget “domestic violence” victim Aqsa Parvez, the 16-year-old Canadian girl whose father strangled her for refusing to wear the traditional Muslim head scarf in 2007. Or Amina and Sarah Said of Dallas, both murdered by their father in 2008 for dating non-Muslim boys. Or Sandeela Kanwal of Georgia, who was strangled to death by her Muslim father, Chaudhry Rashid, last July.

BridgesTV might have had the aim of trying to improve the image of Muslims, but over two years ago, Steve Stalinsky of MEMRI outlined in the now-defunct New York Sun that the network featured Wahhabi anti-Christian and anti-Jewish sermons from Saudi TV broadcasts, including English subtitles. Stalinsky also noted that Donald Conover, one of the main hosts on the network, discussed the power of the Jewish lobby and urged Muslims to vote for Democrats during an interview with a Saudi newspaper in 2006.

MSM’ers generally do a lot of flying as part of their jobs; and I suspect they really don’t want to get splattered into the side of a skyscraper, so instead they’d rather be GUTLESS COWARDS!!!
This is sad as it is scary.
The couple in happier times, before Hassan removed his wifes head
The press or media is largely how we find out about the world outside our immediate experience. If it is biased, our experience of the world is distorted. Politically, it adds up to voting decisions, and thus a government ruling us, based on a distorted reality. The internet in general, and sites like FR in particular are our main antidote to the bias. Paying attention to, analyzing, exposing and dissecting the bias are among the more important things we can do here.
And of course will come the inevitable acquaintance saying that Mr. Hassan, “is a quiet man.”
It's sort of a pre-requisite for the job. The pressure to conform to all the approved views in a newsroom is amazing. People who don't accept the clear liberal line self-select out of that line of work, or get fired because they "don't fit in."
Think academia, only for MUCH lower pay.
Thanks a million for all the your links!!!!!!!!
That’s so sad that the MSM has become a well-oil propaganda machine.
“... saying that Mr. Hassan, is a quiet man.
A quiet man that acted in self-defense of his islamic beliefs.
BTW, I am trying to think of films/TV shows were Muslims are villains. I am sure there must be quite a few, but I just haven't come across them.
Islam is an insane murder cult. The rest is PR, meant to lull infidels into throat-cutting range.
I live in the general area of Orchard Park, NY, where the beheading took place.
I am appalled by the silence on this beheading. It should have been splashed everywhere in the news. Of course, the Buffalo News went from conservative to outrageously liberal about 30 years ago under Warren Buffett.
EVERYONE in this country should be aware of the beheading. The murderer’s trial should be televised on every TV station so that the people in this country learn.
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Ah, she died for her insolence, then. Something tells he he'd walk in a Sharia court.
Lies, damn lies, and a muslim speaking.....
Is David Duke still around?
Bumpity bump!
