Good article. I would add that the primary reason that Liberals always break the law of unintended consequences is that a big part of being a Liberal to begin with is that they are fundamentally blind to the notion of consequences altogether. It goes to the fact that they are emotionally immature, acting on impulse and in complete denial that there might be a consequence associated with the action.

And what is evil, if not the unrestrained impulse of a child backed by the power of government?

Great article and wonderful examples... The sad thing is: it could have gone on for 10,000... no 50,000 words.

This article is a treasure that can be shared with everyone’s liberal friends. It is not pejorative, but glaringly factual. We, who agree with this author, have to consider ourselves dissidents now, who have to spread the word by underground person-to-person means.

Seems they are hoisted on their own petards, the over reaching will result in their landslide loss in 2010.

Precisely. The really unfortunate aspect of the disease, is it’s easy communicability in large groups and gatherings.

It goes to the fact that they are emotionally immature, acting on impulse and in complete denial that there might be a consequence associated with the action.

I would further submit they not only are in denial, some know exactly what the detrimental consequences are, and do not care!

Yes, that is evil. When you turn away from "Good" (God) then you're only going to be left with one thing, and that is evil.

A more basic, earlier law is the one broken in the Garden of Eden. The desire was not to eat the apple as much as to be like God and know good from evil. As a result, mankind, in the desire to recapture Eden and be like God, has mismanaged and bungled every aspect of creation. RATs are simply the culmination of this fundamental heresy.

None of this matters to ME because all the Republicans are just a bunch of RINOS and I’m never gonna vote for any of them against and I’m gonna vote third party instead and let the Democrats win every election and trash the country because I felt like throwing a little temper tantrum and hissy fit instead of getting behind Republican conservatives to....

((breath))

....take back the country for the conservatism that I say I believe in but show that I don’t because I’m an idiot who would rather navel gaze and pick my nose and gripe about the RINOs instead of doing something to get rid of them and replace them with solid conservatives because actually....

((breath))

....doing something but gripe and piss and moan would require me to get off my duff and invest some time and effort and maybe even money so I’m not gonna do it but will instead just destroy everyone else’s morale by being a lame-o loser who would rather whine about how the Republicans....

((breath))

....are all a bunch of RINOs and I’m never gonna vote for them instead of helping to retake the Party for conservatism and the country for conservatism and if you don’t like it that I’m going to vote Liberaltarian or Constitution or some other loser third party....

((breath))

....that doesn’t have a frog’s eye chance of winning then you’re just a sheeple who is also probably a liberal or a RINO too since you obviously don’t share my skewed whacked out idea of principles which allow me to sit around and do nothing but gripe and complain and let the Democrats win every election.

/whew

It IS sad that it could have gone on and on for 50,000 words. - It’ll be sadly interesting to see the “unintended consequences” of a monstrous spending bill that wasn’t even read by the lawmakers who voted for it - AND all the executive orders that Obama has hastened to sign into law.

“Seems they are hoisted on their own petards, the over-reaching will result in their landslide loss in 2010.”

Hopefully the case, but what effect will an ACORN organization have on that scenario, which is now armed with billions of dollars and access to the levers of power?

It just did for 1,107 pages.

Another aspect of liberalism is elitism. Liberals believe that the vast majority of people are simply too ignorant to make the "right" decisions in their personal lives. Obama's comment in San Fransisco about "bitter people clinging to their guns and religion" epitomizes how liberals view those who do not share their beliefs. For liberals, they must make the "right" decisions for these people whether through higher taxes to discourage cigarette smoking, CAFE standards that force people to buy the right automobiles, mandating we buy only the "right" kind of light bulbs, closing down talk radio so people only hear the "correct" political positions or creating a nanny state where even small personal decisions are made by government fiat.

Liberals believe that only the elites deserve to have the personal liberty to make choices in their lives because the little people might not make the "right" decision. However this leads liberals to hypocrisy. Al Gore can harangue us for having too big a carbon footprint because we drive SUVs, keep our homes warm in winter and cool in summer and have too many kids, yet he can live in a mansion, ride in limos and private jets and have a flock of kids. Tom Daschle can lament about tax cheats on the Senate floor yet has no problem cheating himself.

I am way more afraid of the intended consequences.
