"Manage the Public Knowledge"
February 13, 2009
RUSH: President Barack Obama, in his inaugural address on January 20th.
Greetings, my friends, it's Last Chance Friday.
JOHNNY DONOVAN: Live from the Southern Command in sunny south Florida
via New York City,
it's Open Line Friday!
RUSH: Those of us who manage the public's knowledge
will be held to account
Greetings and welcome, ladies and gentlemen, welcome,
the Excellence in Broadcasting Network.
Nice to have you here.
Telephone number if you want to be on the program on Open Line Friday, 800-282-2882.
The e-mail address, ElRushbo@eibnet.com. Roger Kimball has a post today at PajamasMedia.com
and it contains a couple of Ronald Reagan quotes, Ronald Reagan on the campaign trail.
And this, by the way, is the Ronald Reagan
so many conservatives in the media
us we should forget.
This era of Ronald Reagan is over.
We need to adapt conservatism so that we, too,
as conservatives can use government to attract that group and that group and that group of middle class voters
so that we win back power.
It's time for us to acknowledge that government is a central focus of everybody's life
and that the era of Reagan is over.
Said Ronald Reagan on the campaign trail:

RUSH: Here's Joe in West Palm Beach.
Great to have you on the EIB Network, sir.
Hello.
CALLER: Hi, Rush. Honor and a pleasure.
CALLER: A little stimulus talk. My question is:
RUSH: Uhhhhh. Let's see.
Well, I have to think you're right about that.
We haven't heard about...
There never were tax cuts in this stimulus deal anyway. There were tax "credits."
But there aren't any tax "cuts" per se,
and we learned yesterday that the maximum
that anybody who does get a little reduction in their payroll tax
is going to net $13 a week up until January,
at which time it will be $8 a week,
and that's the extent of it
but you're right, there are no tax cuts.
CALLER: Well, that's one of the things that Obama was running on during his campaign.
You heard it over and over again.
RUSH: It doesn't matter what he says.
This is the thing, Joe.
CALLER: Ah.
RUSH: It's about what he says it.
I guarantee you he goes out and makes these appearances
and all people hear him say is
CALLER: Right. Another un-kept campaign promise.
RUSH: Well, yeah,
but, you know, that's standard for a lot of politicians.
This is far worse than that.
This is a genuine transformation of the country as devoted to its founding, the founding and the concepts.
The Constitution is the enemy of Barack Obama.
The Constitution and the facts of any story are Obama's two biggest enemies. The Constitution was written by founders who feared precisely what's happening. They feared an expanding, never ending, growing government, with more and more power.
If he think the Constitution was written to limit the power of the government,
The Constitution has to be set aside.
The Constitution has to be ignored.
Or, it has to be rewritten by liberal judges who, when cases come before them, can rewrite their own law,
claim that it's constitutional,
and there's nothing anybody can do about it.

Thank you so much, Rush.
I really do wish
0bama makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when he speaks. God Help Us!
It was a GREAT Rush program today; glad I had a chance to listen in.
Yes the empty suit is “THE KINGFISH” but eventually ALL fish get caught.
BTTT
So now he considers himself one who manages the public's knowledge?
My goodness, isn't he just ever so much smarter than his audience.
That video is so relevant right now. Dictator Obama.
I am weeping for my Country today. Ronald Reagan's vision and true Conservative values healed this Nation when it was in a far worse circumstances, without spending a penny on Government "stimulus".
Who said “manage the public’s knowledge,” Obama or Rush? I’m confused and not sure anymore what I heard today.
My goodness, isn't he just ever so much smarter than his audience. "
You idiot! Rush was quoting Obama!
RUSH: President Barack Obama, in his inaugural address on January 20th. ...
... RUSH: Those of us who manage the public's knowledge
will be held to account to spend wisely,
Everything that he said in his inaugural address
reform bad habits,
do our business in the light of day.
is being done in just the opposite way,
but it doesn't matter what he says,
It was Obama that said it - in his inaugural address - UNBELIEVABLE! (well - not really) From a google search:
OBAMA: The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works, whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified.
Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end.
AND THOSE OF US WHO MANAGE THE PUBLIC’S KNOWLEDGE will be held to account, to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day, because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government.
Nor is the question before us whether the market is a force for good or ill. Its power to generate wealth and expand freedom is unmatched.
OBAMA: But this crisis has reminded us that without a watchful eye, the market can spin out of control. The nation cannot prosper long when it favors only the prosperous.
The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our gross domestic product, but on the reach of our prosperity; on the ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart — not out of charity, but because it is the surest route to our common good.
(APPLAUSE)
The search that I did came up with the transcript saying the “public’s knowledge” - not dollars like it says at the top of Rush’s stuff. I think it is wrong on Rush’s site. It obviously makes more sense to say dollars. I wonder if that was a Freudian slip by Obama?
Okay - that first transcript that I clicked on was for the Washington Post and it has “knowledge”. Clicked on several others (ABC, FOXnews, etc.) and they say “dollars”.
Youtube clip below is garbled. I can see where some might think knowledge, but pretty sure he says “dollars” at around 10:39.:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjnygQ02aW4
Uh.. no. See...
OBAMA: Those of us who manage the public dollars will be held to account
RUSH: Those of us who manage the public's knowledge will be held to account
See how the phrase has been changed by Limbaugh to apply it to himself?
I'm just saying....
See my post 14 (weird about the Washington Post using “knowledge”).
Even worse from that youtube is a 10:11 where Obama says: “What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them...”
I think anyone without their head in the sand knows that. And those that do will find out the ground has shifted pretty soon. And it’s quick sand.
Trust he will never attain! He leads by example, just look at his appointments, look at the cesspool he crawled out of, look at the pomus a##ses in congress the Senate and the house throwing our hard earned tax dollars we could be using on our families. They laugh.... They take from us and give to them. A modern day Robin hood program. Well it don’t sit well with me, 2010 make it here fast, I’m ready to vote my a## off.
Politics is not a bad profession.
If you succeed there are many rewards,
if you disgrace yourself
you can always write a book .
President Ronald Reagan
And Obama and the Democrats
