Excuse me? what exactly was it then? Attack of the F-ing Easter bunny?
Some people are STUPID in the extreme.
So according to the writer, if it’s not a terrorist attack, its.....nothing?
Richard B. Veit is a coward.
Must have been a coal dust explosion and those guys who stood in their little boat saluting just before the Cole blew were tourists ....
Dear Mr. Veit:
I appreciate your brilliantly reasoned argument. F*ck you very much.
(signed) A Rational Human Being
Richard Veit has a so-called brain.
The attack on the Marine Barracks in Lebanon was a garden party.:-(>
He should try telling the parents of those 17 dead sailors that they weren’t terrorists!!
What an idiot!!
Well richard..or may I call you Dick...may you learn first hand what a terrorist attack is...you know...for research purposes of course
So a group attacked a US Military asset.
Let’s call the attack an act of war.
Keep the perp’s in Gitmo until the War is over!
I have to admit that attacking a military target is a little more courageous than attacking a soft civilian target, but... the Cole was there simply to refuel and wasn’t involved with any wartime activities that I know of. So, from that standpoint I would still call it a terrorist act.
“I do believe that this word is being used so as to elicit sympathy”

I’m sure these fine young men were in uniform and working for a country that signed the Geneva Convention. Or, were they murderous thugs who declared war on America and were mindless followers of a false and fanatical cult-religion who never heard of Geneva no have knowledge of convention.
The Cole attack was closer to guerrilla warfare than terrorism. The word “terror” and “terrorism” sell advertising hence their overuse.
OMG.
What planet do these people live on?
Okay Freepers.... who is Richard B. Veit from Carbondale?
Someone must have a handle on this fellow’s carbon footprint!
Mr Veit, I urge you to not stray too far from the sidewalk on your Birkenstock shod lunchtime walk to Bean Sprouts R Us lest you become a pedestrian "casualty" or worse yet "dead" after being struck by some ditto head listening to Rush instead of paying full time and attention to driving his Hummer.
