Is he putting this on, it really doesn't look like it, very bizarre?

Whatever it was, it was a pretty good bit if he was acting. That was more bizarre, but just barely, than the appearance by Kramer from Seinfield after the racial slur incident.

Maybe Joaquin Phoenix has forgotten who he really is.
John Cleese was on The Bonnie Hunt Show and told a story about Peter Sellers that was odd:
At minute 2:40
John Cleese tells a story about how Peter Sellers “had to find his own voice every morning”.

I'd sooner hear and watch someone scraping their fingernails over a blackboard than listen to and watch Letterman. The man insulted my President, George W. Bush, night after night and continues to do so to this day. I hate him!

They would not have let him go on. His Manager would not have let him go on nor would the the Network. Right. Sometimes I forget the high moral standards of the networks and Letterman specifically. Thanks for the reminder.

If he is portraying an aging white boy who thinks he can rap, then he’s brilliant as a rapper as well...

The funniest part of Drew flashing her breasts to Letterman on his birthday was that later he interviewed one of her male costars (the doof who played Robin to George Clooney’s Batnipples). He asked the young guy, when the subject of Drew came up, if he had ever seen her...
“Oh yeah.” the guy said cutting him off.
Letterman looked disheartened, like he thought he was the only one!

I theorized that Phoenix hadn’t had time to groom, had popped a zit and just came up with that ingenious disguise as Plan B. - He’s obviously a good actor and mostly avoided cracking up at some of the stuff Letterman said in his casting about to actually interview Phoenix. - It was interesting and not the usual star preening for the camera and talking up his new movie.

It was an act. They were both acting. Why? Who knows. Publicity probably.

Thanks that was probably a hoot to watch.
One thing I was surprised about, is what a little guy he seemed to be, the nebishness aside.

Folks will still get their peckers in a twist even if it’s a publicity stunt (peckers = Brit term for noses). LOL
