AFGHANISTAN TODAY - Two Afghan women clad in blue burkas and five children wearing a mix of Western and traditional clothing carry goods home from an Afghan market, Feb. 4, 2009. The photo was taken by U.S. Army National Guard Photographer Staff Sgt. Russell Lee Klika, who now serves with the 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group of the West Virginia Army National Guard. The unit recently deployed to conduct missions around the country in support of Operation Enduring Freedom XIII.
That is an outstanding video!
It is almost enough to make a grown man want to weep.
Thanks for sharing!
I guess they'd have to be!
I can't even fathom temps that cold.
Does it get very cold where you are Iron Munro?

He sure is. In fact they have to move him up an age class for the Special Olympics. And since I can no longer run, & a quad turns so darned slow, I had to go to 3 wheelers. They turn fast enough to keep up with that little bugger ;>) ! I do wear a helmet & so does Nicole, just to chase him and catch him.
Think I would have left promptly myself! lol
Bookmark,,gonna check it out Sarge. You only live once.
Aloha to you....a good day? *Hugs*
The day before his 52nd birthday, Abraham Lincoln left Springfield, Illinois, to become President of the United States. With the threat of civil war looming, he said goodbye to the friends and neighbors who had come to see him off. I now leave, he told them, not knowing when, or whether ever, I may return, with a task before me greater than that which rested upon Washington. Without the assistance of the Divine Being who ever attended him, I cannot succeed. With that assistance I cannot fail. Trusting in Him who can go with me, and remain with you, and be everywhere for good, let us confidently hope that all will yet be well. To His care commending you, as I hope in your prayers you will commend me, I bid you an affectionate farewell.
Lincolns reliance on God for guidance and strength reflects the instruction of Solomon: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths (Prov. 3:5-6).
On this 200th anniversary of Lincolns birth, we celebrate his kindness, integrity, and courage. And we can also learn from him how to face a daunting future with confident hope in the Lord.
Howdy Sarge!
Goodness....that pic alone is enough to prevent me from going there.:)
Is it still in use?
Still standing for some reason?
It does indeed!
