True, but they are being taxed without representation right now.For a reason... Go read the Constitution. DC is a Federal District (seat of our national government) and as such is supposed to be neutral, non-political, therefore no Senators and Reps
Plus DC gets tons of Federal money, lots more than they pay in taxes

Thank you. I know it is impossible to separate this issue from politics due to my city being, without question, overwhelming Democratic, but there is still the issue of Americans not being properly represented. Will it without question provide a permanent Democratic addition? Absolutely; anyone saying this is not political is lying. But it is also the right thing to do.

That is by their choice.
The “rules” for the District are quite clearly laid out in the Constitution. No one but the President HAS to live there.
They can always move to a state.
