I worked at a McDonalds back in ‘73 as a cook. It was a place holder job while I was in college getting a Comp Sci degree. I joke now that my first computer was the french fry computer at McDonalds.
We got minimum wage with an occasional bump. We didn’t get fed, so I organized a group and we’d send someone over to Hardees or Burger King to get lunch, which we ate at McDonalds. Eventually the manager and owner caught on and started giving us lunch/dinner depending on when we worked (they probably should have fired me).
Anyway, if this guy has been working at McDonalds for 4+ years and he’s getting a degree at the local community college, I’m wondering:
1) is he 2 years out of high school and about to get an AAS?
2) degree in what (is it marketable)?
3) if he’s job hunting, why is he getting turned down?
4) is he really job hunting?
5) was he an Obama plant - the “where’s mine” crowd?
6) does he have a family to support?
7) is he getting family support (parents)?
8) has he really been working at McDonalds that long?
9) if he’s been working at McDonalds for 4+ years how come he doesn’t have a degree in hamburgerology (they used to give those) and a position in management? No potential?
10) benefits at McDonalds? Around here the kids that work at McDonalds get any excuse, they quit and go to some other fast food joint. I never heard of McDonalds handing out bennies - I had to shame them into feeding the crews.
I was offered a management position when I left McDonalds. I told them, if I wasn’t good enough for the job when I worked there, why am I good enough for the job when I give notice.
Maybe he’s a loser in life’s gene lottery in the brain area. Not his fault it’s yours. We tried capitalism and it’s failed. Now it’s time to give socialism a try. We can jumpstart economy by giving Julio a rebate check for voting democrat.
