If enough people break a small and oppressive regulation, something will have to be done at the government level. Think Tea Tax and Boston Harbor. Right now the inmates are running the asylum that is America (and Canada, as referenced by Steyn). Its time for us to revolt. If our phonecalls and pleas to representatives are falling on deaf ears, then we have to do something to make them take notice. No, not bombing a federal building in Oklahoma City. But how about the equivelent of what Mr. Steyn and Ms. Shaidle do every day? They ridicule the rules, post over-the-top and offensive articles, and make people laugh at the absurdity of silencing thought and opinion.

This may be a idea. Anybody else? Maybe an 'Obama is a Commie' stamp?
Thank God for this article.
Yep, Claim 50 Deductions are your W-2.
When the taxes stop flowing, the Government starts listening.
Buy under the table when you can.
Is it legal to mail tea bags? Would it be considered harassment or terrorism or any other crime on the books?
Squeaky wheels get the grease...let’s make it loud, but civil.
It’s my recollection that you can claim 11 or so without a look see from the IRS. Check with your tax preparer. Or do 50 and suck it up.
Henry David Thoreau |
Civil Disobedience (Resistance to Civil Government) is an essay by Henry David Thoreau that was first published in 1849. It argues that people should not permit governments to overrule or deteriorate their consciences, and that people have a duty to avoid allowing such acquiescence to enable the government to make them the agents of injustice. Thoreau was motivated in part by his disgust with slavery and the Mexican-American War.

Now, we’re talking. One of these days, our side is going to realize how far things have slipped, and that the system is now so corrupt that we no longer can work ‘through the system’.
Everybody send pork chops or acorns to your favorite congress critters...
I am designing a bumper sticker that I will soon make available. In white lettering on a black background, there is the Obama campaign’s symbol with the international ban sign (circled with a line though it). In large capititals there is one worrd next to the graphic: RESIST.
You people aren’t being very creative.
Whatever we do has to be viral inasmuch as the deed will be seen and will influence countless thousands of others and will destroy the beast through ridicule.
That is why utilizing the currency to spread the message is so brilliant.
I wonder what else along these lines could be done?
We better learn to fight back lest we plan to roll over
“Now worth .94$. Thank congress” Stamp
bump - and for future reference
In my case, I am constantly thinking of ways to earn as little taxable income as possible and spend as little money as possible. I put as much under the radar as possible, but legally.
This can be through barter, craigslist, ebay, etc.
Grow your own vegetables and sell the surplus to your neighbors (no money spent at the market). Bicycle commute. Telecommute when possible. Buy as much as possible used from private parties - craigslist, garage sales, etc. Pay off all your debt and “horde” your actual earned (and taxed) money. Stuff like that.
I also ignore traffic laws when it is clearly safe to do so (and there are no cops around).
When one person does this it is pretty meaningles. When a lot do, it has an impact.
I have a better idea..
1. TERMLIMITS.COM
Let’s force congress to tell us NO to TERMLIMITS. Then we vote them out of office and use TERMLIMITS as the new Litmus test for electing officials.
2. DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCT ADVERTISED ON THE MSM
Send letters to companies saying you will no longer purchase their products as long as they support a media who is in the hip pocket of the Democrat Party.
These two items alone can change America.
Once Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner’s signature is printed on our paper currency, circle his name with a red Sharpie and write TAX CHEAT!
