If enough people break a small and oppressive regulation, something will have to be done at the government level. Think Tea Tax and Boston Harbor. Right now the inmates are running the asylum that is America (and Canada, as referenced by Steyn). It’s time for us to revolt. If our phonecalls and pleas to representatives are falling on deaf ears, then we have to do something to make them take notice. No, not bombing a federal building in Oklahoma City. But how about the equivelent of what Mr. Steyn and Ms. Shaidle do every day? They ridicule the rules, post over-the-top and “offensive” articles, and make people laugh at the absurdity of silencing thought and opinion.

I was thinking the same thing. They hate smokers worse than anything. You want to get their attention, just light up where there is a smoking ban.

My suggestion is for people to stop paying their property taxes. They will let you go for about 4 years before they start threatening confiscation of your property. If everyone who could did this, they would have to pay attention. Most cities and counties get the majority of their budget from property taxes. Just imagine if all over America, people stopped paying their property taxes. If just 40 or 50% of property owners did that it would shut down local governments.
I know someone who claims a bunch of Mexicans on her taxes. So far, she has gotten by with it.
Refuse to pay property taxes, too.

Seeing how the majority of people have mortgages and taxes are escrowed into your monthly payment, there would be a lot more foreclosures within 3 months. You go ahead and start it, I’ll wait until the lender’s scream loud enough...but since the gubmint now owns some of the lenders they’ll probably just let it happen and sell the houses to illegals with zero down gubmint funding.

Please pass it on. Email it, send it to blogs, send it to the various press outlets that allow comments and let people know we, as decent people wishing to conserve that which is right and decent, are sick of the direction the country is taking. Please modify as you wish.
May I make a suggestion? Could we have a ‘special section’ on the front page for creative ideas to protest and get our message out (like a ‘think tank’ or ‘current projects’)? A thread like this gets pushed down the pages in time. JMO :)
