The disarming of the American citizen ha been on going for the last 30 years. Piece by ever so small piece of our rights have been taken by stealth and sometimes full frontal assault...Remember Ruby ridge and Waco.
We are fed lies that we need these restrictions to help keep ourselves safe, that it is only common sense and good policy to prohibit gun ownership. All it takes is a media vehicle to put the gun grabbing into motion. It doesn't matter if it is the truth or all out lie, if we are fed properly the media promotions, we will not at with logic, but emotion. Thus giving...handing over the only thing that keeps us free..our guns.

Yes, this is the same Police Chief that had his duty weapon stolen out of his assigned undercover (not marked) car. It is also the same Police Chief that hit my car twice while trying to parallel park behind me.

He’s a nice enough guy, but not in my opinion one for a National appointment.

don’t discount the .45! there are all kinds of .45’s out there that are extremely accurate. sigs and hK’s are very well built. and if you want american made, check out kimber and sti for top of the line 1911s.
or take any old colt or springfield 1911 and customize it.

“...by God there had been be an available supply of bullets!”

Good luck with that. It’s getting harder to find and way more expensive. I shoot .40 and I buy every box I can find.

I thought that was Norm Stamper who was in charge of the Seattle PD during the Mardi Gras riots.

You might be thinking of the WTO riots....we've had a string of lousy Chiefs here and it's hard to keep them all straight with their various and sundry failures  :-)

Background on Kerlikowske, other Seattle police chiefs

  • Stamper announced his resignation in 1999 in the wake of the WTO riot. The Police Guild had threatened to take a no-confidence vote.

Stamper had battled sinking morale during his final year and officers said he was out of touch. Minutes after the first newspaper story of his retirement hit the streets on Dec. 7, officers driving through Pioneer Square whooped in celebration.

But his standing with the public and his own officers suffered a major blow in 2001 over handling of the Mardi Gras riot that led to the death of 20-year-old Kristopher Kime and 70 injuries.

I should have added that quote in the second citation is referring to Kerlikowske.

“I thought that was Norm Stamper who was in charge of the Seattle PD during the Mardi Gras riots.”

No, that was the WTO riots you are thinking about.

Kerlikowske is as guilty as the rioters who murdered that young man.

I can’t remember this brave kids name, but he was coming to the aid of a young lady. She was having her clothes pulled off by rioters.

The rioters beat him to death with a skate board.

Kerlikowske and the mayor were watching this happen from the top of a building while this was going on.

The cops were eager to go into the crowd of rioters to get the punks. But Kerlikowske and the mayor refused to let the cops do their duty and held them back while the kid was beaten to death in front of cameras.

Rank and file Seattle Cops hate this SOB.
