Carter said last week: "Do you think we should employ illegal aliens? What parent raises their children to become a farm worker? These kids, they're the least educated people in America or in the southwest corner of this Valley. They turn to lives of crime. They go on welfare. They get into drug trafficking, and they join gangs."

“Carter apologized for those comments.”

Never apologize for the truth. Whether they like it or not.

Except for the part about, “what parent raises their children to become farm workers”, he is probably right. Too bad he’s an environmental activist.

All true, but unfortunately a large portion of this country long ago traded the truth for liberal fairy tales.

Loyd's comments were completely inappropriate for the circumstances; an argument over waters rights for fish or water rights for agriculture on the San Joaquin River drainage.

Actions have consequences. Open mouth, insert foot and resign.

On the other had, a group of Mexican nationals and their currently legal progeny gained a false sense of support for their illegal interloping.
